Short Verizon Victim Statement |
| Feb/27/08 | Gena Miller | Pittsburgh,Pa | I ordered verizon/yahoo DSL, 14.95 a month, two year contract, price for life...I have the online contract, that does not state...its an extra two dollars a month if you go with yahoo........I called billing, they said, its the way it is, I explained over and over, its never mentioned there is an extra two dollar charge. She said, sorry, its how it is and hung up

| Feb/23/08 | ycbmss | boston,ma | of "stills" to my attorney. Video is video. Stills are a cover up. |
| Feb/23/08 | ycbmss | boston,MA | I was made fun of by Verizon employees because of my sexual orientation while shopping in their store. They are now sending a video of |
| Feb/22/08 | Unhappy Customer | New York,NY | I AM GOING TO RAPE YOUR FACE AND SLAUGHTER ALL YOUR CHILDREN FOR SELLING ME A FLEXGROW. ALLAH WILL PUNISH YOU FOR THIS. |
| Feb/22/08 | FIBER MAN 69 | New York,NY | I sold everyone of you a flexgrow and lied and told you it was FIBER. |
| Feb/22/08 | Norman | New York,NY | i am a agent for Verizon and my job is just to get the paper signed. |
| Feb/22/08 | Julie | Philadelphia,PA | I was told on the phone by Verizon rep trying to 'renew' my contract and sell me a new phone that my contract was up. I switched to ATT/i-phone and was slammed with $175 fee because my contract was, in fact, not up. Customer service is now very polite but adamant about not deleting the fee. Would like to sue them for deceptive practices. Someone from their company told me that my contract was up and needed to be renewed. BTW, the renewal group must have called my cell phone number at least 40 times in about 30 days leaving blank hang up messages each at every time I did not answer the phone. This was after I told them I was not comfortable with making the kind of decision they were asking me to make over the phone (three times) and practically being hung up on after I said it. Silly me, I thought by saying that and their hanging up they wouldn't bother me anymore. |
| Feb/10/08 | KRIPPEDOFF | Phoenix,AZ | Verizon wireless, "backup assistant" made 200+ (billed) calls, from (& or to) my cell phone in one month (not one free call a day as it's supposed to). This had the effect of a $90.00 overages charges never before seen on my billing. While the "cost" was obivous to me, it was virtually impossable to calculate the exact effect in dollars. 5 different Verizon employees all admitted the charges were incorrect but there calculations varied from $15 to $60. Not in that order. The resulting "credit" was $29.00. I am demanding the full $90.00. Since they can't even agree on the amount, but the effect to my bill was $90.00, this seems fair to me, but I still fight. The bottom line is that Verizon does NOT care about customer satisfaction. Any (honest) business who sees a problem that was their own fault, would simply credit the $90.00 baised on the billing history and have a satisfied customer. Verizon has a mad customer who has been victimized by theft. Please support verizonpathetic.com and spread the word. Verizon is a criminal. Thanks KRippedOff |
| Feb/5/08 | Bill Broncati | yonkers,ny | 1. Had to call 10 months in a row to have a re-occurring $20 charge that kept getting added to my bill "By mistake."
2. Moved, had no signal in or around my new home, and was charged $750 disconnection fees for our 3 cell phones. I was a customer since founded.
3. Called verizon over 50 times and avergae 1 hour per call to address issues, 1 of 8 issues was resolved, most re-occured, half of the calls were dropped. |
| Feb/4/08 | DB | TXI've been on the phone with them for 2 hours, 40 minutes so far (I am currently on hold for yet another dept). I was supposed to get FiOS through them as of 2 days ago so that my wife can use the internet on our new wireless laptop. She starts bed rest in 2 days and will be stuck there for 3 months due to an issue with her pregnancy. There was a delay in the installation (not their fault), but now they are terminating the DSL connection even though the FiOS will not be ready for at least a month. i am trying to stop the termination from happening, and trying to get a temporary wireless router to use until the FiOS is ready. I have been laughed at my one rep, been given HEAVY sarcasm by another and belittled by yet another rep. This is not going well... |
| Feb/3/08 | lauri | caI did 27 years in the craphole known as Verizon. I was a customer rep for residential and I just retired. I could not be happier. I just want to share my joy with the world. |
| Feb/3/08 | Becky | Springfield,MA | I went to upgrade my phone today using the new every 2 that I have for the past 10 years, well guess what?!? The secondary phone number NO LONGER gets the new every 2 money for a new phone!!! GO TO HELL VERIZON! |
| Feb/1/08 | Jean | Charlotte,NC | I cancelled my prepaid wireless account in November 2007 and am still having 53.63 taken out of my checking account each month. Verizon says it is not happening and to go to my bank and talk to them. I'm calling the utilities commission. |
| Jan/31/08 | Dave Hendrickson | Forest Grove,OR. | Verizon refused to unmerge my Yahoo Web hosting site when I switched to comcast as my internet provider. I now have a site I can no longer manage. I don't get the contact info anymore either. Yahoo says Verizon has to fix the problem, and that means dealing with Verizon customer support. Which as everone knows is non existant. I am planning on sending all the emails I have sent to Verizon and a record of phone calls to customer service to the Oregon State DA, as a complaint to start with. I am having to cancil my payments for the web hosting and rebuild the site with another web hosting business, certainly not Yahoo or Verizon! Good Luck everyone! |
| Jan/31/08 | tamara g. f. | beltsville,md | Verizon fraudulently has been charging me with FIOS TV charges since November 2006. Every month I have to call them to remove the charges only to see them back the next month. Tired of this and ready to sue BIG TIME!!! |
| Jan/31/08 | tamara g. fojt | Beltsville,MD | Since November 2006 I have been charged for FIOS TV which I never had, as I am a Comcast long time customer. Every month I have to call and remove charges to only see them back again the next month. I am force to sue Verizon with a friend of mine who had been in a similar situation. |
| Jan/30/08 | Denise | Erie,PA | former employee just want everyone to know verizon's president 2005 made 11.34 million including 10,000 for a finacial advisor for all his $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |
| Jan/24/08 | -------ANOTHER EX EMPLOYEE------------ I worked for this comany from hell for 3 years and voluntarily left my mother and husband still work for them unfortuneatly. like the last person on this forum I tried for 2 years to have a baby it was just another failed attempt after another, 2 months after leaving hell (verizon) I got pregnant I now have a beautiful baby girl! Take it from me they brainwash all their customer service reps to have no heart. | Ex-employee
I cannot state my name but let me just say I was aemployee with the company for 3 years I left my position voluntary. I hated the job, I hated that company to the fullest. They are all scam artists trained not address your problems but try to just sell sell sell sell sell. I was a customer service representative so I know first hand. the main priority is to sell, then fix a problem if there is time. and good luck trying to get through on the phone you will sit on hold longer than any other company in the world, when you finally get through they will tell you that you reached the wrong department and they will attempt to transfer you to either A:)another wrong department B:) or the call will get dropped and you have to start all over again with the 45 minute wait to speak with someone. The managers only care about number of sales and what you sold not problems solved. I was forced to slam 90 year old ladies with internet and long distance who do not even own computers this company is sickening, I unfortunately have 2 relatives that still work for them. they pay the employees very well because its a sweat shop they beat you down, and turn you into a robot. They are degrading, mean and very mentally abusive to their employees your not allowed to have a life outside of verizon.

| Jan/22/08 | Jim | Jacksonville,FL | Just wanted to say thanks for this site! I left Verizon and got a bill for $400 because of 2 cancellation fees caused by them billing 1 account as 2 and them thinking a 2 year contract went for 4 years. I just asked for the reg agency in you mention in the FAQ and all was waved. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. |
| Jan/18/08 | TURK 182 | TAUNTON,MA | IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH VERIZONS POOR SERVICE CALL 1-800-780-0753. THIS NUMBER IS CALLED THE PRESIDENTS APPEAL LINE AND IS RARELY GIVEN OUT FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. |
| Jan/9/08 | gordam w | irving,tx | i switched everything to verizon one bill. was quioted about $330.00 a month. have paid over $3000.00 for 4 months of service. everthing has been cut off. they still want more money. they didnt put everything on one bill. before they can fix the problem i have to pay everything up. then they will discuss fixing their mistake. |
| Jan/8/08 | Ray | NORWALK,ct | My wife paid cash at a kiosk, threw away the receipt, 2 months later the payment was removed. They said it belonged to someone else, not us. I argued long and hard but what fixed it was swearing at the Rep. Sorry, but it worked |
| Jan/4/08 | Danny | Tucson,AZ | I recently started working for Verizon landline billing. I had no idea how fucked up Verizon was until I started working for them. I can guarantee the majority of these stories are accurate. I will occasionally post a story in the "pain" section about a customer I feel bad for. I wouldn't really care if I lost my job because Verizon started losing a lot of customers. I FUCKING HATE MY JOB!!! |
| Jan/3/08 | q.b | charlotte,nc | these fuckers screw me over every month..i have a family share plan of 3 lines and the 3 line is just an emergency phone so it stays off in the car 100% of the time but i still get charged at least 50 for an "add a line" which is only to be "9.99"...fucking lying scammers |
| Dec/21/07 | Verizon customer | Centreville,VA | I have noticed that Verizon will often not send an email bill. I get the impression they may be doing this deliberately in order to make the customer pay or fine or damage his credit rating. This has happened to me multiple times, and complaints have been ignored. They promise to get back to me but never do. It is not a problem with spam filters or email delivery, as I have them in my contact list. They simply do not send the email that a bill is due. |
| Dec/21/07 | GhostWriter2008 | Kent,WA | (see my post on 10/28) I will wrap-up my tale with this: taking calls for Voicewing like was a veritable death sentence. Whatever bad things I have ever done in my life I definitely served my punishment for them through that horrible project. I just know and believe that as more and more customers disconnect and more and more representatives quit Verizon will eventually see the error of their greed. |
| Dec/20/07 | YUCK FOO | FALL RIVER ,MA | VERIZON HAS BROKEN THE LAW MANY TIMES AND HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF TREATING HUMANS IN INHUMANE WAYS. THERE FORE JUSTICE MUST BE HANDED OUT SEVERELY AND QUICKLY. REMEMBER, THIS COMPANY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY THE JEW AT THE TOP CARES ABOUT HIS BONUS. I IMPLORE YOU TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE VERIZONS EXISTANCE A LIVING(OR DYING
0 HELL....NGHTY NIGHT BITCHES |
| Dec/20/07 | An expendable service representative | As a Verizon employee of recent vintage I can say honestly that the vast majority of comments on this site are unfortunately and surprisingly very true. What is on my mind is as follows: What do you do with what is by far the best paying job you've ever had in your life when it makes you so miserable that it can only be concluded that it is deliberate? |
| Dec/19/07 | Happy!! again :D | Tampa,FL | and another thing ... for all of you customers out there heads up.. if you do not want to be asked the SALES questions and this only works for the sales questions when the agent says "do I have permission to access your account records" say no I do not want you to sell me anything you have permission to access whatever you need to answer my questions only" Then they cannot ask you sales questions which can save everyone a lot less stress. I used to be so happy when customers would say that :D |
| Dec/19/07 | Happy to be gone :o) | Tampa,FL | Verizon fired me recently after they "concluded" an investigation that took them over a month! They were aware the day they spoke to me that they were going to let me go but waited until yesterday (right before Christmas AND the day I returned from a family member passing away) to fire me. I know that it was a very well paying job but its not worth it!! Everyday you are forced to work overtime for a company that does not care about its employees or its customers. Verizon only cares about money in the pocket! People that work there are always getting sick because they are over worked and harrassed every day. It does not matter how hard you try on a call if someone is monitoring you they will find something wrong with it! Also we have a minimum an 11 point list of things we have to do on EVERY CALL NO MATTER WHAT! And alot of those 11 things include several "SUB" things that we have to find out too. All of those sales questions we ask that annoy the hell out of you the customer? Trust me they annoy us to but we get fired if we do not as you every one of them and not only that but even after you say NO we have to ask you at least one or two more times before we can move on! When they fired me I actually left the building happy! I waited and had lunch with all of my friends and told them I am sorry they still had to put of with working for a company that does not give a damn. Oh also we get in trouble if we for giving " to much customer service" to a customer. If a customer is not buying anything we are expected to transfer them or maybe write down the problem so someone else can eventually get back to them so that we can move on to the next call to try to sell something.. One day when verizon has no customers and no employees left and no money they will realize that if they would have treated employees and customers with a little more respect they would have gotten alot farther. Then again knowing Verizons tactics they will just blame it on whatever little employees they have not yet fired for stupid reasons. |
| Nov/21/07 | Wesley | Ripley,WV | Verizon shut off our service for no reason, and when we contacted them about it they denied they had anyone out our way, and they are refusing to send anyone to solve the problem since it's their "holiday". |
| Nov/21/07 | anotherVzBEmployee | this company is bullshit, it got no respect to its employees, it's personality destroying, demotivating company where verbal abuse becomes routine, you are pissed for 8 hours of a day and got only 30 minute of break, you have to deal with other people within verizon who have no clue of what they're doing, everyone is lying to everyone else, just to be safe... it's wicked and sick... being polite and nice, trying to help people with they problems will not pay off, they will overhelm you with requests you won't be able to process,.. one hint for anyone considering working for Verizon.. mind your own business, never ever promise anything to anyone, lie lie and lie as long as it gets you better pay.. and in the end it all comes to you dear customers... you get crappy service because many of employees don't give a f*ck about your service being down, since their company don't give a f*ck about them. Just wanted to shed a lil bit more light on this company. |
| Nov/20/07 | Maurice Cohen | Woodhaven,NY | I was Billed for 3 calls , I didnt make , and Verizon isnt doing anything about it , SO Im gonna sue , and see where that gets this damn Phone company , |
| Nov/19/07 | Becca | Wyocena,WI | Verizon broadband - paid online 1 payment, hit the every month payment plan by accident. When I went to change the every month plan their page will not come up. Charged twice in 3 days. Will not reimburse me or help me terminate every month online payment. |
| Nov/19/07 | Lisa | Hopkinsville,KY | My contract ended November 14th. I shut off the phones on November 18th. Verizon says I have to pay for an entire month since I went over 4 days... CROOKS! |
| Nov/15/07 | Julian | New York,NY | I recently had nightmarish experience with Verizon company, they basically are trying to steal 349$ out of my pocket. And stealing is
the best word to describe their actions. So, here is the story. For several years I had just a "basic domestic phone calls plan" with
Verizon and used another company(EOT) for long distance and international calls. EOT have very good rate (3cents a minute) for
international calls to the country I usually call to, but they don't have a flat rate for long distance calls around US. So, I decided
to switch to Verizon for long distance flat rate plan only(Freedom Plan), but decided to leave EOT plan for international calls intact.
Okay, they changed the plan over the phone. Done deal. I was totally convinced that this will start saving me some money for making
long distance calls. Meanwile, I continued to make international calls by dialing 011... the way I did it all the time before I signed
with Verizon. I was absolutely sure that I am making this calls through EOT. To my surprise next bill I got from Verizon was with a
charge of 349$ for the international phone call with a rate $7 per minite! When I called them for explanation, they said that I cannot
use 011.. anymore as these internatioanal calls go through Verizon company. If I want to make phone calls through EOT I would have to
get a code from them. I asked them why they did not tell me this before, and more importantly, warned me about super high rates for
such international calls. They said to me that they are sorry. Then I asked them to remove this charge and even signed up for their
international calls plan too just to make them happy. To my surprise, they signed me up for international package and.... they refused
to take off the charge of 349$! I am switching back to EOT for now and will fill complaint with FCC about Verizon actions. I think what
Verizon is doing with me is just a trick they probably trying to pull on a lot people, so that they can extort money this way from
unsuspecting customers. I hope this company collapse one day... |
| Nov/13/07 | JP | Albuquerque,NM | A good friend of mine has a issue with Verizon.
I blogged about it here.

| Nov/9/07 | GhostWriter2008 | Kent,WA | To Kris Phillips: First of all my heart goes out to you with the difficulty you are experiencing. The best advice I can give you (as a former employee, read my report below) is to contact your state's public utility commission, that being your state regulatory agency that covers all utility companies. You can contact your state attorney general's office and/or the federal communications commission. Verizon can provide you with the toll free numbers per your request for fcc & public utility commission. Sometimes it's better to go that route than to continue arguing with a different rep everytime you call in. I hope this helps. |
| Nov/5/07 | Aysha Jabeen | San Jose,CA | deducted 128$ off my 800 deposit for 1 late payment, which was due to bill dispute. i paid all bills including late fee, still they ate 128$! notto say [payment for fasle overages, and lame excuses of 5 reps saying it was credited, only to later have 1 rep say, you lost it coz u late. too bad we didnt take ur 800 for it. wow! |
| Nov/2/07 | Kris Phillips | Pittsburgh,PA | I AM GOING TO SUE VERIZON!!!!!! I am (soon to be "was") a DSL customer. After about 2 - 3 months my modem/router went out, so I was forced to pay a service charge for a new one (that's right, a service charge for something that was not my fault in any way!!!!). So I paid said charge, received a new router & box to send the old one back, which I did. All good so far, right? Well now a couple months went by & then all of the sudden when trying to use my debit card, MY ACCOUNT WAS MISSING ALL OF ITS MONEY!!! Not just empty, but, overdrawn. So I called Verizon, they tell me I never sent back the old/broken router, HUH!?!?! After arguing with the Rep. I was transfer to a supervisor that started off by apologizing & told me that they just lost track of the old router & would refund my money. COOL, Right!?! WRONG!!! It seems as though for some reason they can't put my funds back in my account till the next billing period, a month later!!! They will not pay the "bounced" fee also, & as I'm typing this my account has a second overdraft fee because it's been over 5 days now with a negative balance and by the time my money is returned it will have four(4) more said fees($35.00 Each) So I guess Verizon thinks they can just do this to me and get away with it!!! Long story short; Every time I call Verizon I basically get transferred around & fed old info. I hope you're all ready for this one; I MUST TAKE MY SON (7 years old) TO SHELTER TONIGHT SO THAT HE WILL HAVE A MEAL TO EAT. I had my money (small amount, but all I had) rationed until next Friday(Payday) to support my family. I don't have any living family members or good credit or any other possible way get money to hold me off. THANKS VERIZON....I No, I No...Your policy say's..blah...blah..blah. Try explaining to my 7 year old why he doesn't get lunch money for school next week, see if he can understand!!! I've been doing business with these criminals for a little over a year now with multiple "service interruptions/disconnects" & generally so-so service. But this.....this is all I can take from these pieces of $h!+ !!!!!!! Any advice would be GREATLY valued. |
| Oct/30/07 | Ivis | Miami,FL | Got the family plan for $69.00 a month with $9.99 for an additional line and I've yet to receive a bill under $300. We never go over the text or minute limit yet they can't explain why the bills are so high. I refuse to pay until it's explained. |
| Oct/28/07 | GhostWriter2008 | Kent,WA | I worked for Verizon for 3 and a half years, and speaking as a former employee I can tell you right now there are very few words to adequately express my relief of finally assuming that title. First and foremost dealing with complainy-pants the likes of you people all day long is among the very least of our concerns, and the company treats their employees with no more or less respect as it does their customers. You have heard this reiterated many times over but in my personal story I was always considered a very outgoing agent so much so I was promoted to Transaction Review Team (where all we have to do is monitor accounts after price plan changes, we don't have to talk to customers, unless something looks suspicious, and we can listen to headphones while doing so - a very relaxing change of pace to taking phone calls to say the least), after our lead boss (who was one of the most kindest, most dearest individuals I've ever known) left the company we had a new boss out of a different state take over and since that everything went down the tubes. Our credit limit was reduced to $25 (when it used to be $50), credit escalation would no longer honor courtesy re-rates, and basically all credits we submit and ALL new phone orders we submit required a supervisor approval. I was fortunate enough (I suspected at least) to be chosen out of several to take calls for the Voicewing (voice over the internet service) and our trainer hyped us up like this was so much better and....it was even worse. Any of you reading this report should know the Voicewing service is even worse than the Wireless service. Calls drop, sound quality is terrible, and should we need to file trouble tickets it takes forever for our senior engineers to find a resolution, customers we had to deal with on that service endure far more stress attacks and horror stories than they do in Wireless. All of this was carried to such an extend I began developing severe chest pains, and on one occasion I had a sinus infection in addition which required a hospitalization. Verizon's insurance provider only paid 20% when the hospital billed me for the entire charge as if I had no insurance at all, which was close to $2000. It became much worse as time and time again I became ill with chest pains and had to call off sick frequently, I was issued several written warnings and finally resolved to file an FMLA claim through Metlife. I followed their instructions to the letter, waited in the Doctor's office for 4 hours to have the paperwork done, and finally when submitted my claim was denied, as was my appeal for benevolency funding on the medical bill I received. The bill went to collections placing me close to $2000 deeper in debt than I already am. To add insult to injury we received word that our service was expanding to Mexico meaning we are going back to Wireless....as if Verizon will pay me enough to endure that again! Voicewing began migrating to a newer system and when a "new customer" calls we had to transfer them to the call center in Mexico and normally ended up waiting on hold for 45 minutes just to transfer the call as we couldn't access the new accounts. Since this happened mostly of the calls we had were all warm transfers. Do I need to go in debt on how we had bleed an apology so many times over to these customers because they were fed up with being transferred around back and forth so many times? Let's not even begin with the trouble we had on DSL mistransfers! After submitting resumes left and right I finally was able to leave the company and secure a position with a far more reputable company and I can already see far better opportunities for advancement here. So what's my point? If you people reading my report think being a customer of Verizon is enough of a nightmare....try working for the company! |
| Oct/23/07 | jim | seffner, fla | got supena from palisades collection company about a bill from verizon wirelss 1200.$ first ive heard of it and dont owe!. |
| Oct/17/07 | natalie | south park,PA | I subscribed to verizon home phone service and my home phone service was never actually on, so I cancelled the service. My boyfriend who lives with me inquired about getting their service and told them the problems I had been having. They sent out a technician to our house. He said that noone at this residence ever had home telephone service because there was no cable on the box. In the meantime verizon was still sending me bills for the service that I never actually had.I have now spent over 2 years appealing this and just recently saw an outcome. They erased the charges for that account but supposedly i still have charges from an existing account before then. They don't treat you like a human being at all. I asked them if they could knock anything more off my bill for the numerous occasions I called, numerous cell phone minutes wasted being on hold with no outcome, the time and energy I wasted filing discrepancies through the credit agency, and filing complaints through the better business borough. of course that is too much to ask for. |
| Oct/10/07 | syed khalid | sunnyvale,ca | I ended getting charged $3200 for roaming charges on my PC broadband card for internet use in Canada for 4 days (about 20 minute4s each day). Not file transfer, no download. I was charged $3200 !!!! |
| Oct/7/07 | former employee | Seattle ,WA | I used to work for verizon... they treat their employees just as bad as they treat their customers. The only difference is I had no problems with bills and service until I quit. As soon as I quit, they had me reprogram my phone (should their be a difference?) and my phone started dropping calls and suddenly my minutes usage doubled, I started getting roaming charges and of course had to sit on hold forever just to get to a CSR.. waste of my time. Also, they screwed me on my last paycheck and was "looking into it" of course never heard back and never got my money for time worked. |
| Sep/10/07 | Dick Eddy | Wenham,MA | Verizon promised installation of the FIOS system on Aug 17th. I called on Aug 15th to check and they told me the work order never was entered so it could'nt be installed until Aug 29th. I called again on the 27th and was transferreed to the Trouble Escalation Desk. What an appropriate title. Jim at the desk told me I'd have a temp line installed by the end of the day. I called him 4 more t imes that day to find out why the temp line wasn't installed. Never received a call back. Finally got another install date of Sep 14th.I know it's early yet but they still haven't dropped the line outside my house so I'm not sure what the tech will do when he arrives and finds no cable to hook up.Their customer service is non existant and you can't get a phone number to call someone back. And this is from a major communication company. What a JOKE. |
| Sep/9/07 | virginia | Somerville,MA | For THREE YEARS I had spotty telephone service. Phone would go out for no reason. I made hundreds of calls, went without phone, had dozens of techs out here. As of now I know only that "there is problem between the pole and your house." The last tech told me to switch providers. |
| Sep/8/07 | bromhead | coppell,tx | Verizon after five months still has my account in the wrong name, applied when I try to speak to anyone but correct when I receive a bill. |
| Sep/4/07 | Judy | Bradenton,FL | I telecommuted from home and had Verizon DSL. After a while it started shutting down for about 2 hours in the afternoon. I worked around this for a while but the shutdown times got longer and longer - sometimes for days. I called several times and was refunded a day or two's worth of charges but the CS person said that someone would have to come look at my sytems because I had asked for too many refunds. (mind you, the service always came back on without any action on my part). Finally scheduled a visit with tech. The appointments kept getting cancelled by their automatic system for some reason and I waited all day for three seperate days for tech to show. Cancelled and got brighthouse cable. When I called to cancel internet service they transfered me to a customer renention specialist who wanted to give me free months to stay. |
| Sep/4/07 | Lance | Newport News ,VA | I am a new customer just moved into the area looking for voice/data/video bundled services. Check into Verizon - OK - give them a call. Then I make the arrangements to get me 'hooked up." On the day it was supposed to be finished, no dial tone, no TV, no ISP service. Call Verizon tech support. "They" show everything is fine from their end. I ask aloud "I wonder why it doesn't work at my end." The tech says they can send someone to the house but it will cost me $199. I told them to hold that thought and I would get back to them. I find this site and read everything. I then call Cox Cable and request the same services. They had a tech out at my house FOR FREE next day and everything is working great. I asked what he had to do and he said he needed to make my connection 'hot' outside at the junction box. I asked him if Verizon would have had to do the same thing. He said YES and showed me what Verizon would have done. Verizon is a bunch of lazy morons who, I suspect, are also dishonest IAW reading all of these stories. Thank you everybody for taking the time to write your experiences. I may have fallen into Verizon's trap if you had not written your stories here. |

"They" show everything is fine from their end. I ask aloud "I wonder why it doesn't work at my end." The tech says they can send someone to the house but it will cost me $199. I told them to hold that thought and I would get back to them. I find this site and read everything. I then call Cox Cable and request the same services. They had a tech out at my house next day and everything is working great. |
| Sep/4/07 | Alana | Portland,ME | Opened my account as a business instead of residence. Bounced me between business/residential technical support for hours. Told me my account didn't exist. Told me I hadn't paid my bills, when I never received any nor did I receive notification that there was any billing issue. Kept me on the phone for 2 hours, mostly on hold, occasionally speaking to all poorly-informed representatives who all gave me conflicting information. One told me, not even joking, that my account would be "unsuspended after I emailed the credit card". Pardon? Another gave me a confirmation number that seemed to not confirm anything. During my final 10 minutes on hold, I told the representative that I had never received worse service, and that whatever training any of them received was a joke and a horrible inconvenience for their customers. He started talking over me, repeating what they are supposed to say, "Thank you ma'am it has been my goal today to provide you with outstanding service have I provided you with outstanding service to--" at this point I hung up, since in the multiple hours on hold or taking to idiots, I had finished setting up service with one of their competitors. |
| Sep/2/07 | Kelly | Bloomfield,nj | I switched to Verizon DSL and it never worked. I was charged a fee to cancel it which I refuse to pay because the whole six months I had dsl it did not work. Then they charged me 109.00 for one long distance call that lasted 20 minutes at 11:00 at night. That is highway robbery. |
| Sep/1/07 | Jenn | Norfolk,VA | I signed up with verizon earlier this year,DSL service for my ONE home computer.I was stupid enough to give them my bank-card# for automatic bill pay. Then I started getting billed three times a month, after repeated calls I found out they had me down as a business account with multiple #s.After several weeks of tracking down every extra # and many, many calls I was told they had cancelled the additional accounts and I would only have one bill and I got taken off direct pay so they would mail me a bill. Wrong! the next month I was double billed this time(on my bank card),bouncing my checking account three times!I had to call them many, many more times to cancel the extra account, get another refund(which takes 30 days),and they refused to cover the overdrafts that they caused.I also called the bank and had my card cancelled.Several months later, after still not receiving a bill in the mail,my account was past due.I called them fearing my service would be cut off(which would cut off my phone also)and did a one time payment with my husbands bank card. The next day they double billed his card causing three more overdrafts($35 each),now I have to cancel his card and sue them for 6 overdrafts that they refuse to pay even though they admitted they improperly billed me.They have even sugested it was my fault for keeping my bank account low!I make sure I have enough in it to cover what I KNOW is coming out!I am on a very tight budget due to Workmans comp.(which is none of their business).I cannot cover their mistakes and for each of those overdrafts my credit is being ruined!

| Aug/29/07 | D.Cruz | Somerset,NJ | I got so fed up with inaccurate billing such as unexplained charges that show up in subsequent billing statements but dont tie off to any detail charges in any prior statement period. So after my contract expired, I paid off my final bill with Verizon so I could port my phone number to my a new carrier(Cingular). Verizon would not port my phone number unless all charges due were -0-. 8 months later I started getting harrassing calls for some "unpaid balance" which I had no idea about because I had paid all balances and no open balances existed. Every time I complained to the appropriate State Agency and/or the FCC, Verizon would switch and use a new collection agency. This continued for a year and half....in the end they put a "Charge Off" on my credit report for $66. I refuse to have money extorted from me so I have had to tolerate this blemish on my otherwise stellar(780 now 680) credit report. Verizon will never ever get my business again nor should they get anyone else's if I have any input. Verizon practices fraud, extortion and defamation via false credit reporting to which consumers have little to no defense or rights. |
| Aug/28/07 | Mel | Cypress,TX | We added a phone for our son, and our new bill is over double our previous bill - nowhere near the estimate given to us by the Verizon salesjerk. Not only that, they changed our billing cycle, so they could hit us with a late fee for a payment made at exactly the same time as all previous payments. And, to add insult to injury, my son is receiving creditor calls from whoever had his number previously. Seems like Verizon reuses their numbers after about 10 minutes. |
| Aug/18/07 | Pav | Ricmond,va | I have Verizon DSL, non-fios or wtf ever it is. At it's best hits 50kb/sec. On top of that the fucking Verizon internet cuts off randomly every all day every day. At least 200 times a day. And its on their side not mine, Internet light on modem cuts off when internet goes down. Gaming impossible almost.. |
| Jul/30/07 | j b | vaI have been slugging it out wiht them over a $200 equipment charge. The store told me to keep the old phone after my new one was found to be defective. They said it was worthless. 2 months later I am charged. I send the phone back, they recieve it and even call me to tell me but....2 months later continue to credit and then deny the credit. I have had 6 days of suspended service (on vacation). Each person apologizes adn pretends to fix the problem. Now after getting very angry with them I am told that a supervisor will call me, but it will take another 48 hours to possibly fix their error. What about breach of contract? I did not sign up for this - why do I ahve to continue to pay them? I have a year to go. They are clearly at fault and have admitted it. I want to send a letter and break my contract. I will not pay them to end the contract. ANyone had any luck or can I expect them to ruin me over their mistakes and incompetence? |
| Jul/30/07 | Shelly C | Austin,TX | Hi, I have currently been "on hold" with Verizon Customer Svc. for 48 minutes now. I've only been a customer for 2 mos. and this is the 2nd bill with problems. Wish I had found this site before I signed up for sucky service. OK, I'm going to go back to listening to their bad elevator/hold music now. Thanks for the chance to commiserate. |
| Jul/26/07 | Steven Blackburn | Warwick,RI | 15 words or less......sorry..... just read that. |
| Jul/26/07 | Steven Blackburn | Warwick,RI | Where do I start........I'll keep it short. I have 4 lines with verizon wireless, 2 phones and 2 (technology crippled) smart phones, both with data service. I have been with v for 4 years now and have always paid their bills, even when I knew they were wrong. I went into the store to upgrade one of the phones to a smart phone with data. The rep told me that the $299 tag was for NEW customers, the $499 tag was for "eligible" customers.....I have to pay the $799 price tag for the same piece of equipment. A $1000 a month bill....loyal customer......and they can't cut me a break!!!!??? This is just the latest of a string of "screw yous" I have got from them over the years, and it's the last straw. I'm done with them....I WILL NOT pay the ETFs......credit be damed. (I may reconsider that last statement if I can find another way...it took a long time to get good credit.....I hate them) |
| Jul/19/07 | JMed | Easton,PA | Here's another one for ya.....I had four lines on my wireless acct with these idiots. Cancelled one after the two years and transferred the other two into the rightful owners names. Several months later I check my credit report and see a charge-off from VZW for $98. They were claiming that one of the accounts that I transferred wasn't paid even though I had the original VZW receipt and credit card statement showing it was paid. It took me 2 years to resolve the issue with these morons. 2 years of a negative hit on my credit report. Lots of nasty letters and nasty phone calls to their ignorant, mindless, uneducated idiots that they have working in their offices!! |
| Jul/19/07 | JMed | Easton,PA | Who actually logs ALL of their phone calls each month to verify if their bill is correct?? Maybe you should start!! I was in a bad car accident. I was hit and my truck flipped over. As I was sitting on the ground along side my truck waiting for help to arrive my cell phone rang. I answered it and that marked the approx. time of the accident. During the few minutes preceding that phone call and several minutes after that phone call, Verizon charged me minutes on the bill stating that I called my voicemail. Funny, because at the precise moment that I would have checking my voicemail is when my truck was rolling over!! And no I was not on the phone at the time of the accident. Makes me wonder how many other phone calls on my bill are actually legit!! |
| Jul/9/07 | Jana | Albany,NY | Verizon math - I just got my second bill for my small business. Two lines. $36 per line. 36x2=112.00. Really? Then the fees and taxes...final bill. $128. I just don't understand. Last month's bill for setting up 2 phone lines. $350. Things that make you go &&%#*^&*^! |
| Jul/1/07 | pain ohhh the pain | pain,NJ | Verizon is fraud, those of you that support verizon are eithere:
A>Bribed by them
B>Corrupt
C> HAVE NO CLUE |
| Jun/26/07 | Burglar of Bamph | West Newton,MA |
SCUM! Verizon is scum! I want to tear their legs off and beat them to death with the wet ends!
DIE YOU GRAVY SUCKING PIGS! |
| Jun/23/07 | Stephanie York | Old Orchard Beach,ME | Verizon charged me $500 worth of long distance calls about 7 years ago. I was in Seattle, Washington for a week when the supposed calls were made!! When I tried to call and get the problem solved, they told me I was not in their records!!! It was never resolved and to this day I don't know if I still "owe" them that money!! I HATE VERIZON!!! |
| Jun/19/07 | Jim | piscataway,Nj | I ordered verizon phone service only & receiving bills from DSL & phone. I called so many time and seems like they dont know wht they are doing..bunch of idiots...i am still getting billed for the DSL service, which i am not using. holly mollyyyyyyy..boll crap..stupid assssess |
| Jun/14/07 | tex | Southlake,TX | VZ is excellent....their products and people are the best |
| Jun/13/07 | Sharon | St. Petersburg,FL | I cancelled Verizon DSL in 06 due to rude service people. I cancelled it 3 months in a row (bills kept coming even tho I had confirmation #'s.) I finally paid the bill to get rid of them, as I had already gotten cable computer service. A YEAR later they sent bill for $58. Told them NOT owed, they kept bugging me. Told them to send itemized bill/payments & then we'd talk, that just "saying" I owed them wasn't good enough. That was two months ago. No reply, but now everytime I use computer I am constantly bombarded by pop up of DSL connecting. These people are CROOKS. They also have the nerve to keep sending me requests to get new DSL. If they were last co. on earth, I would never get their DSL again. Liars and thieves-shame on you!!!! |
| Jun/7/07 | David | West Chester,PA | Verizon are screwing up my business DSL install. No one at Verizon seems to understand how important having a DSL is to a business nowadays - and they promote themselves as the experts!!!!!!! |
| Jun/4/07 | Rick | ILThey screwed me by overcharging a million times and saying their computers were right and I was lieing. So I paid them in a 40 pound 12 ounce box of pennies and nickles all mixed up (100 dollars). I recommed this payment method. |
| Jun/4/07 | EX VERIZON EMPLOYEE | WESTERN,SD | Both my husband and I worked for this company- who basically took the "never stop working" quite serious. After six (count them) six miscarriages due to HIGH STRESS and a HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT I quit the company and bam got pregnant with a healthy pregnancy. Every doctor tells me same thing the company was POISON to my health. I told Verizon exactly why I left and six months later my husbands position was "eliminated" here he was with a five/six month pregnant wife and no job. Two weeks later I came across verizon advertising for that "eliminated position". What company does that? If you treat your employees that way after months and months of cutting commissions and adding hours what do you think they really think of their customers- Ask any former employee they will tell you. |

| Jun/1/07 | alan | central,nj | got charged 190.00 because those idiots claimed they never recieved my broken. I SENT IT BACK 2 DAYS AFER I GOT IT!!!!!! |
| Jun/1/07 | Gerardo Andrade | Minneapolis,Mn | Verizon charged me a termination fee on a two-year contract when I had about three years with it. Their excuse was that when I changed provider, I kept the same number. That's stupid. |
| 5/28/07 | Jeff Crane | Georgetown,ID | After completing contract contacted Verizon and told them to deactivate my account. I checked the service occasinally to see wether they had. After calling them again 2 times in as many months ad continuing to recieve a bill they finally canceled my account but say I owe for the times I checked to see if it was non active. This constitutes "using the service" and I am held responsible. About 2 minutes worth over 3 months for a total of $142. Wrote it off and sent into collections. Both of which have screwed up my credit...#@%*ing crooks! |
| 5/24/07 | Walt | King of Prussia,Pa | Verzion took $390 from my prepaid account because my credit card number on account was changed. |
| 5/17/07 | John Maloney | Venice,FL | Yellow Pages ads not worth the nickel I've been forced to pay them. Where are all the YP horror stories from small businesses? |
| 5/8/07 | Mara | Irvine,CA | Wanted to exchange the wrong battery a VZ rep ordered but ended up having to wait more than 30 min. in store and still got no help. Their Customer Service SUCKS!!! Takes 3 reps to "help" 1 customer because among them, there has to be 1 brain cell. VZW SUCKS!!!!!! |
| 5/7/07 | jvp | Philadelphia,PA | Work deadlines necessitated two international calls before I could sign up for an international calling plan. The bill came: $391.00!! I called to see if there was anything that could be done considering that I was a long-time customer(and long-suffering one considering a 30 day service outage 4 months ago). Representatives, "supervisors" and "managers" were nothing but rude. Penny wise, but pound foolish, as I am canceling my land-line AND wireless service with them. |
| Apr/30/07 | BOB | JERSEY CITY,NJ | VERIZON ad tripal play tv, dsl, phone for 99 $, 225 chenal, 30 day maney back, when joined also told i can hold and cancel, it was bed iwnat to cancel now say i will have to pay cncelation fee seprate for each amounting more the totasl bill of year were we go from here 4/30/2007 |
| Apr/30/07 | Elba Diaz | Mayaguez,P.R. | I pay my bills by checks. Last two payments were
cashed by them but not credited to my account.
That is Theft. |
| Apr/27/07 | Michelle | Peachtree City,GA | I got a calling plan in 2005- that plan does not exist anymore and all of a sudden my bill went up about $15.00 a month- they added a line that was not there before- they will not do anything or give me past statements to prove it- I should have kept my bills from 2005! |
| Apr/24/07 | Kristin | jersey city,NJ | Verizon (DSL and landline) were to be activated on March 5, 2007 upstairs from current set-up. But, DSL never turned on. 2 techs scheduled to come out, both no-show. Finally discovered move-order was never filed propertly. Service rescheudled to begin until March 21, over two weeks since the service was supposed to commence. Actual date of activation: Mardch 22.
|
| Apr/23/07 | Christine | Portland,OR | $200 cell phone died within 7 months; they gave me another of the same make. When the same thing happened again 9 1/2 months later, they would not give a different type of phone without charging me, even though I was almost within 6 months of the two-year contract being up. Not even a cheap-ass phone, or reconditioned repo. Jerks. |
| Apr/23/07 | Erica | Mechanicsburg,PA | I currently have Verizon DSL and just moved. They said my service ready date for the new address was April 19th...well I tried to go online Saturday the 21st and could not. I called the tech support line and it turns out that the service is not ready. The person called me back today, Monday the 23rd, and said the service will still not be ready for another 72 hours!!!! I go to school online and I am totally screwed! |
| Apr/9/07 | Yvonne Watson | Marysville,OH | And How about the unmerchantable merchandise they sell!! |
| Apr/7/07 | Julius Evans | Davenport,Fl. | I have recieved a bill that I have no knowledge of ever creating what can I do about that? |
| Apr/5/07 | Jhooma Bhattacharya | Pennington,NJ | Verizon charged me $982 @5.85/mi for international calls which were accidentally made, I requested/pleaded/implored them to re-rate the calls to their normal rate, they did not consider and while pretending to work on the case, reported my case to collections! BEWARE, they are bloodsuckers. I left after 6 months of battling and am with Vonage who offer single-click web interface for diablign international calls among many more features. |
| Mar/23/07 | yf | Jersey city,nj | Verizon Wireless is the best to make money at but worse company to deal with. |
| Mar/13/07 | john | fairfield ,nj | The campbell class action settlement is a joke. The 250 "free" text messages aren't per account but assigned to an individual phone. I put the TM's on my main number, even though my daughter's phone is the only one that uses it. It was a reasonable assumption that the benefit was per plan or account, but it cost me nearly $200 before I found out. I can't even change it to her phone for the rest of the period. Some gift! |
| Mar/13/07 | john | fairfield ,nj | campbell class action settlement a scam |
| Mar/12/07 | Jim Edmonds | Pekin,IL | I used verizon for 5 years now, and they raped me. I lost over 300 dollars to them through default on contract and other bogus charges. I didn't follow through to fight my loss, so I paid the money to avoid doing any real work. I want my mommy! |
| Mar/8/07 | Martiif | Seaside,Or | Verizon just screwd me out out 350 bucks. I approached there dealer twice to make sure I was off contract they said I was. I changed to Cingular and Verizon sent me a 350 dollar early termination fee on my wifes phone and mine. They basicily said there not responcable for what a local dealer says. I recieved a notice yesturday saying if I didn't pay them in 10 days they'll turn me into a collection agency . I paid them to keep my credit rating but I hope the bastards burn in hell. Thanks for a place to vent. |

| Mar/4/07 | Linda | PAI was charged for all of my incalls 2 months in a row.Getting tired of contacting Verizon and wasting a good 40 mins trying to solve this issue.Eventually they do credit my account. |
| Mar/4/07 | DW | OKC,OK | Have tried to convince them I paid a bill for 6 months now, have to call and fax items each month to keep off my credit. They use automated clearing house, which zaps the check, none to copy for self defense. Watch out!! |

| Jan/2/07 | P Nielsen | New York,NY | WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Sat home all day waiting for a technician - appt was 8-12. Called several times & was told he'd be there by 5. Finally at 3:30 I was told that I was scheduled for the next day - do you think anyone bothered to call & let me know that? I absolutely DESPISE VERIZON & canceled my service with them. |
| Dec/30/06 | Cam Tidwell | Silver Spring,MD | Verizon was supposed to connect FIOS to my home on December 28. We received a call on December 27 that they would be out between 8 and 12. They never came. After more than six telephone calls to various numbers, being hung up on by a Verizon supervisor, told that we had rescheduled the installation we finally got at least part of the truth. They did not have the equipment to install the service. They were real quick to move me to Verizon telephone (2 days). I paid the $65 I needed to switch back to ATT and canceled the contract. I will not sit at home and wast another of my vacation days on a company that cannot honor their contract. Anyone that does business with Verison needs to have their heads examined. |
| Dec/28/06 | john ross | port washington,ny | PLEASE READ!!! TERRORizon Wireless charges a late fee.... yet they bill you for 1 months service in advance! Example; your bill is due Dec 7. You are late on the 8th yet your service for this bill will be from Dec. 12 to Jan 11! CONTACT YOUR ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND FILE A COMPLAINT!! I contacted NYS Attorney Generals office and now have leeway on bill payment!! Terrorizon does NOT refund ANY payments paid in advance!! Even when you terminate service |
| Dec/20/06 | | FL | I have only downloaded video clips from V-cast that were priced as free ($0.00) . . . I was billed for some of these "free" downloads, which at approx $3.99 a clip adds up. I called Verizon and was told there was nothing they could do to credit my account. I pressed the issue and was then told that they were able to credit only some of the erroneous charges back and they were listing them as accidental downloads. BEWARE OF FREE VIDEO CLIPS PRICED AT ($0.00) BEING BILLED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. |
| Dec/16/06 | Chad Gregory | Lakeview,MI | I have had a Vrizon land line on and off for almost 10 years and the whole time i keep getting promised dsl but it still have not been run in my area. they keep telling me that i can use another cairer for my local and long distance service to get cheaper rates but every company i contact says vrison refuses to contract with them to alow them to use verizion lines. |
| Dec/15/06 | llinda | waterford,nj | I have been without service for 5 days, they say they are going to fix it, but no one shows, this is been going and off for 10 years since I have lived in this area, known as the end of all lines in Camden County. How is it that I play my phone bill every month on time , but get servive half. |
| Dec/15/06 | X Employee | SD | You heard the "we never stop working for you"? Verizon takes that to heart..They work their employees to the bone. I worked for them for years because I couldnt find a job that paid me even close to what I made at Verizon but in return I worked like I sold my soul. My commissions were constantly cut, hours constantly increased (then they move you to salary so they can work you 60-80 hours a week and if you complain or ask questions you get an HR review or denied vacations and time off) and quota's (yup they are required sell every customer so much otherwise they can be fired-- did you catch that FIRED if they don't sell you) are outrageous they increase monthly to the point where the reps are so stressed out trying to keep their jobs they will sell anything. If you or your family get sick- well as my boss told me when my daughter went to the hospital " if she's there the nurses can take care of her" to add insult to injury when I quit I was told to leave immediately and I would be paid through the end of the week but I am still fighting to be paid what I worked. So Next time you want to scream at the employee across the counter please remember the employees are treated like dirt by their bosses, worked like dogs and don't forget the constant lack of respect from a company who preaches "integrity" and "core values" but only when they suit their needs. Why support a company that treats their employees so shamelessly. |
| Dec/11/06 | stephanie | the city of angels,ca | hmmmmm...well i personaly think verizon wireless is a bunch of bull sh*t. thats all there is 2 it!!!!! any wayz does anyone kno how much does it cost if u have a 700 min plan and go over 1 min, how much is that one minute going to cost me???????? i called verizon wireless but they kept transfering me 2 a different place or trying 2 convince me to get a new plan ringtone or some other bull sh*t. how much does it f*cking take 2 answer a stupid ass question!!!! so does anyone kno?????????????????????????????????? |
| Dec/6/06 | Lene' K | Sycamore,IL | In addition..Verizon has a monopoly on this area. There are no other options to hook up a phone other than Verizon. I am wondering if what they did to me is a common practice??? |
| Dec/6/06 | Lene' K | Sycamore,IL | I moved from WI and called to hook up a phone line to access my dfial up. I asked for just a basic hook up with local long distance and stated several times that I did not want this package or that package as the phone line would be used primarily for a computer. They hooked me up with a measured minute plan! Then they had the nerve to call me a liar and say I didn't ask for the local long distance. That was what I asked for even while they were pushing their packages on me. I have never even heard of a measured rate plan before anyway and to even put that on me anyway knowing full well that I would be using the internet is a shifty way to do business. I feel what their rep did was intentional. I found a local provider to hook up DSL and Verizon messed up their order and I have been waiting a very long time for service. They are incompetent and shifty if you ask me. |
| Dec/1/06 | schade | Delaware,O | In the fastest growing county in OHIO verizon can't figure out the land line problems on Horseshoe Rd. How about "dropped" calls on a land line. Yea! And our only i-net option is dial up and it drops below 8kbs when it rains!! Oh, and we're not talking a rural area, this is a main access to the county seat!! Verizon can't figure it out??????????? |
| Nov/29/06 | Mui Ma | Long Beach,CA | I got the deal of DSL for $14.95 a month which is not bad. However, my deal expired after a year and the price for monthly charge went up to $17.99. I called customer service and they transfer me from one department to another. Yet, I told them to cancel my line and I can re-order my deal through the Web again for the same deal. They screwed my up by not canceling my deal until five days later which will take 5 days to cancel the line. In addition, the new deal for $14.95 will expired on 11/30/06 which is my current line will cancel on Dec 1, 2006. I can not order my new DSL until my old line disconnected. I have a friend who had the same problem and another rep credit $3.00 a month for the next twelve months. I can see managament is not consistent on approving such matter. This will probably conclude my service is considered done with Verizon. |
| Nov/26/06 | Richard Falco | Middle Village,NY | Never came to check my lines for DSL then porceeded to charge me for activation and continued billing me each month for a service I don't use. Their customer assistance sucks like a $10 prostitute from Chelsea. |
| Nov/24/06 | m. larson | Everett,Wa. | $90.00 charge for an 'adjustment' just showed up a couple of months ago. Was 'wowed' when I called about charge. On hold one hour. Letter to Ivan and Atty. Gen. Paid and expected this to be cleared up. Just received new bill, no credit. This site is an eye-opener. I did not these scams were company policy. |
| Nov/13/06 | Lauri | somewhere, CA | TO KIM - posting 11/13 - have you called repair at 611? If so, what have they told you?
|
| Nov/13/06 | Kim | NJ | Anyone know who I can contact with Verizon REPAIR problems? For years, everytime it rains here I have static/connection problems. Verizon tells me they are working on fiber optics BUT its not available in my area yet. Vicious circle, and NO Verizon is NOT working for me! I am beyond frustrated with them. This is my home phone we are talking about!! If anyone has any ideas, please help!! Thanks

| Nov/9/06 | Jonathan Wells | Pensacola, FL | I'm yet another former customer who was screwed by the VCAST "promotion." I never even knew what VCAST was. The salesman never even mentioned. Yet these crooks don't mind charging me $15 per phone/ month (2 phones)for a service I never wanted in the first place. Can someone say "class action?"
|
| Oct/9/06 | Lauri | ?, CA | To 10/7 "former landline employee" glad to see you get to say "former" don't know if it was by choice or not but you are so much better off physically and mental do be out of the S*&T Hole that you were in. My congrats and respect to you
|
| Oct/7/06 | former Verizon landline employee | anywhere | You're absolutely right, when you look at how verizon landline pays compared to other companies in your community, they do pay well. But when you compare it to all the work you have to do on each & every call, it's not near enough for all the crap you have to put up with, not from the customers, but from management. I'm sorry, but no one, not even Ivan is worth what he earns. I would love to see all those upper management people try doing everything we're suppose to do on every call for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. They wouldn't last one day on the phone with the customers, their problems and the selling that is required.
|
| Oct/6/06 | Lauri | ?, CA | to Kim in New Jersey- you are not paid well to sell dsl and direct tv if you work in a CSSC you are paid to sell everything you possibly can even if the customer does not need it....you are paid to take verbal abuse from customers for things you have not caused but you still must apoligize you are paid to be abused and used by Verizon an extremely unethical company compare the ratio of work to pay for what you do compared to Ivan if you think you still get paid well for all you do than you have my deepest sympathies lauri

| Oct/5/06 | Joe | LA, CA | I agree Wilson, that is why I switched to Cingular. To me it is like if AOL offered internet service but you could only use their online content and not browse the web. It I want a ringtone with my kids voice they dont have that over at Get It Now, I want to send it to my Bluetooth capable phone, not pay to download to a bluetooth crippled phone.
|
| Oct/1/06 | Wilson | San Francisco, CA | Verizon disabled Bluetooth OBEX when it features in the phone and trying to cheat their way in with their "Get it Now" store. Other than Verizon Wireless, there are no any other Networks that would disable a feature so they can force you to buy thier products to make a profit. I repeatedly asked them to enable the OBEX but they just lie to me reapeatedly. Now the technology I've been trusting on is stolen from Verizon Wireless.
|
| Sep/28/06 | Kim | Freehold, NJ | I work at the CSSC in Robbinsville NJ and we are paid well to sell you DSL and DTV. Any other call from you is a waste of our time.
|
| Sep/25/06 | Bradley | Salinas , CA | Since I had no credit as a young adult, I paid Verison a $400 cash deposit for a new phone and two year contract. After paying all of my bills in full and on time I canceled my account and was told that I would be refunded my $400 deposit. It has been nearly two years, and I have not seen a dime. Corporate indicates there is no record of payment and refuses to acknowlege that I had ever paid them anything. They demand that I provide my credit card number (hmmm... If I had a credit card, why would I need to pay them a deposit in the first place?) or a cash recipt (which I admitably misplaced sometime in the last FOUR years). One thing that both verison and I agree on is that they do not hand out phones to new customers who have no credit, but since they don't know exactly how much money THEY STOLE FROM ME they refuse to pay me anything. CRIMINALS.

| Sep/23/06 | Former Verizon landline employee | Anywhere | After reading so many stories on this site & others, I just wanted customers to know about problems that can't be solved, you can contact your state's public utility commission-state regulatory agency that covers all utility companies, contact your state attorney general's office and the federal communications commission. Verizon can provide you with the toll free numbers per your request for fcc & public utility commission. Sometimes it's better to go that route than to continue arguing with a different rep everytime you call in. Also, Verizon does have an internal chain for escalations, request a supervisor & ask for the customer relations department. Also, in Ohio, the phone companies have minimum telephone standards they are required to meet. Hope this helps, I understand, I know you won't believe it, but I used to be one of the reps that would rather solve & fix your problem than think that Verizon was always right.

| Sep/22/06 | Geraldine Hoyt | Revere, MA | Hi, just to let you know, Verizon did show up on Sept. 21, 2006. I had left my key with a neighbor , and went for a long, long walk to cool down. When I returned I found Verizon working on outside lines, 2 hours of work! I now have phone, very clear, and DSL, very good, so I am satisfied. My only complaint with Verizon is that when they tell you they are coming and then can't get to you, they should have the common decency to call the number you left with them of a neighbor, so you do not sit for 2 days waiting for them.
|
| Sep/21/06 | Lauli | somewhere, HI | To Nonnie 9-18 WV - if you can make direct dialed local and long distance then Verizon is doing the job they are supposed to do anything beyond that is not a VZ problem. Sorry that's not the answer u want but that's the way it is if you have any doubts with that answer you can alway check with the PUC.

| Sep/18/06 | Nonnie | Moundsville, WV | I have been trying for 3 weeks to call a dear friend in England since her husband passed away in late August. I have used the 10-10 long distance companies to call Europe for several years, but had not called there yet this year. I have tried 2 different 10-10 companies, and cannot get call to go through. Have tried 2 different numbers in England, also. Both of these companies have told me to check with my local phone company (land line.) I have called Verizon numberous times, gone through the maze, gotten cut off nearly every call, only to be told when I finally get a human being that I cannot make calls to Europe without having a long distance carrier or using a calling card! I have been making calls to Europe for at least 6 or 7 years and have not had a long distance provider for longer than that. Had never had any trouble getting through before. Has anyone else had this trouble???? Appreciate any help!

| Sep/11/06 | Fed Up! | Thorndale, PA | Called to upgrade my DSL service, was told it was free (not true) then told it would be doe in 24 hours (not true) When 24 hours came and went I called them to see what was going on and was told I had to call their billing office. I asked for a supervisor, transfer failed twice before being hung up on. Called back and immediately asked for a supervisor, was told my order was in process and would take an additional 4 days (already 1 day overdue). The next day I lost dialtone. Called repair they offered to have someone come out the next day between 8am and 7:15pm. I had no choice so I scheduled it and told them I would call to cancel if I can get another solution before then.
|
| Sep/7/06 | Damn you Verizon!! | Syracuse, NY | I'm being billed $150 extra for overage calls from the extra 660 minutes that came from an "unavailable number". I never answered phone calls, especially not 80 minute phone calls, from someone that I don't even know. Verizon won't tell me who these calls are from but I still have to pay? BULL!
|
| Sep/4/06 | VERIZONsucks! | Binghamton, NY | Verizon has stolen over 1500 dollars from my girlfriend and I for absurd charges and mistakes due to their incompetence (we have a north american plan).
|
| Sep/4/06 | Annoyed | Phoenix, AZ | CHECK YOUR BILLS. If you recently changed your phone or plan, you ordered the specific service you wanted. However, Verizon adds a "free" promotion to your phone (VCAST in my case). Your letter shows a start & end date for the promo, however, that date is when it ends being free. It is then automatically added to your phone. YOU HAVE TO CALL TO CANCEL IT. Very sneaky, if you ask me. I mentioned this to someone I work with and she looked at her bill and sure enough, they had started to charge her for the service. I'm sure many people, especially older people, are getting ripped off this way.
|
| Sep/2/06 | Mark | Albany, NY | Spread the word Dont use any verizon products. thats the only way to stop these Thieves. Put them out of business.
|
| Sep/2/06 | David Fugler | Hingham, ma | verizon charged me 26$ for a 1 minute collect call, 5 miles from home. I had enough and made arrangments to get the 3 for 99$ from Comcast.(voice, dsl,tv) Somehow verizon found out and cut our phone service 10 days early. I call verizon, and their auto service says" based on the nature of our situation a human will have to help me". Then says because of high call volume I need to call back later, and I get a busy signal. Funny, isn't it?
|
| Aug/31/06 | Nate | Edgerton, OH | Dead phone, at lest third time this year. I was told a reapirman can not come until September 5th. The problem has always been at a switching building 4 miles away. Why does this happen time after time. I am going VOIP and it won't be Verizon.
|
| Aug/29/06 | Anonymous | PLYMOUTH, MA | PHONE LINES WENT DEAD TODAY 8 HRS. AGO,NO ONE COULD GET THRU!CALLED FROM CELL PHONE AND GET THIS? VERIZON TOLD US THERE IS NO REPAIRMAN COMING UNTIL AFTER LABOR DAY!!! Today is Aug. 29th!! this is horrifying knowing i have twins and they don't give a damn if I don't even have a dial tone to call 911 in case my house burns down or an emergency arises! The moronic customer service rep. told me "oh well" nothng he could do...and was rude and had an attitude telling me the techs were busy!!I ASKED FOR A SUPERVISOR AND OF COURSE HE WAS BUSY TOO!! I WILL BE CANCELLING THIS SERVICE ASAP! I HATE VERIZON! VERIZON IS AWFUL!!
|
| Aug/29/06 | Coleman | Lacey, WA | Paid bill in full VIA internet. Got a late notice, then had bank send all info on it being paid, they then sent another notice saying service will be terminated in 24 hours in not paid in full. I asked about the bank info that was sent, and their reply was that it takes them 5 business days to process this. MEANWHILE if my lines get disconnected i have to pay a 15 dollar a line fee for the disconnection.
|
| Aug/23/06 | Bob B | lauderhill, FL | Signed a new 2 year contract and was promised $100 off a new phone, due to having gone through much hassle with them. Created new contract, called up a week later for a phone, but guess what? No notes on my account for $100 off... and I confirmed that with a "supervisor."
|
| Aug/17/06 | Tara Akins | Las Vegas, NV | Two phones promised as "free upgrades" by the TeleSales Dept, received 1 phone, billed for 3 phones at $285. Led in circles when trying to resolve through Customer NON-Service Dept, told only other option is to pay $350 to get out of two-year contract.
|
| Aug/10/06 | juan morelli | Carson, ca | It appears that when you foward calls, every call uses your peak minutes. Even if its from another verizon phone, or at night/weekend. Their warning only says "airtime charges still apply..." I went over my minutes, which I never do, and I won't get a credit. Once I was out of the country for a month, and my billed showed calls while I was gone... They probably run up your minutes randomly every month... I intend to start a class action on fowarded calls.
|
| Aug/3/06 | S. Smith | Los Angeles, CA | My DSL has been down for 4 months. I have tried every 2 weeks to get a technician out to check the line. "Customer service" has consistently taken my call, written up a "ticker" and then I never hear from them again. Yes, 4 months. No service. Just 4 bills.
|
| Jul/30/06 | Peter | Haddon Township, NJ | My phone service was down for days. I tried to call to have it fixed using my verizon cell phone but kept losing the call because of their terrible service.
|
| Jul/28/06 | V. Snyder | Audubon, NJ | Verizon is my local/long distance carrier. they own our land lines. The lines are copper wire. Every summer when it rains water gets in the lines and I lose my dial tone. I've had at least 10 service techs out to fix it. They always say they have to go back to the office to get something, then they never come back. I call verizon repair and verizon says the service ticket has been closed - yet still no dial tone. If the service tech cant or doesnt want to fix your problem he just leaves and lies and says he fixed. Extremely rude customer service. Said they wouldnt fix copper wires anyway. Wanted me to upgrade to FIOS for an extra $35/mo I switched to Comcast digital voice.
|
| Jul/27/06 | kyung kim | San Jose, CA | My son used text message service and they charged around $500.00. I want to make a payment arrangement but they only said. "Please pay full payment right now other you will be notified to the collect agency." I hate them.
|
| Jul/26/06 | Sandy | Pleasant Valley, NY | I have been waiting for a credit for almost 2 months now but when you owe them money they send you to inside collections a day late.
|
| Jul/17/06 | Garrett Seeley | Waco,Tx | We had Verizon service - We tried to buy out of contract which we were told was $200. Guess what? Thats $200 PER LINE! Calls where always dropped. we where told service was better than it was, and then to get out of the service cost us $800 due to multiple lines. Is there a class action somewhere to get a hold of someone? email me zelot1@yahoo.com

| Jul/1/06 | samantha | boston,ma | my phone broke within a week of my two year free upgrade and $100 credit....never late on bill or anything...will not give me a new phone 1 WEEK early told me i have to buy a new one at retail cost..called call center and they told me they would change it, went to store and no record of a change..called again and they told me i couldnt and had to buy new phone.....this is bullshit i added another phone to my plan so now it cost me $300 to cancel my plan...customer service my ass! how do you run a business like that?? |
| Jun/29/06 | Lyn | VA | Hello and I would like to apolize for the poor customer service. I was a Verizon HOME PHONE REP (not wireless, but we sold DSL and other phone services along with DirecTV). I recently lost my job also and the gentleman that had the scratch on his truck and got fired. I know how you feel. There is no rhyme nor reason for them firing someone. The union is trying to get my job back also (I got fired after almost 7 years for something stupid which I DIDN'T DO, of course it's management's word against yours) I know the customer reps (well the majority of them) care about their customers, but we are trained to act like money-grabbing robots. That is all the company cares about. So remember, the next time you have a customer rep on the other end...he/she probably has a supervisor watching everything they do. MANGAGEMENT DOESN'T GIVE A CRAP UNLESS YOU ARE SELLING THE CUSTOMER SOMETHING AND THAT MAKES ME FEEL VERY UPSET! |
