Wannabe | Worcester,MA | Goodbye New
England Telephone, I mean Nynex, I mean Bell Atlantic, I mean Verizon or
whatever you latest incarnation is! |
| Feb/24/01 | DSL Wannabe -
Update | Worcester,MA | After being
given no good reason why I still have no service after sixty days, I
cancelled my Verizon account and have decided to try Telocity. What a
F****D UP company Verizon has proven to be! |
| Feb/22/01 | Jim
Taylor | Easthampton,MA | I HATE VERIZON!
Those jackasses keep dropping the line EVERYTIME I TRY to connect the the
web via phone line! |
| Feb/22/01 | DSL
Dreamer | Gaithersburg,MD | I got DSL
through PSN.net, an ISP for NorthPoint. But NorthPoint screwed me up by
declaring bankruptcy and dropping me as a subcriber so I turned to Verizon
for service. They gladly took my order and now it was been 2 months past
the schedule installation date. When I called them to get the status they
told me that since I was Nortpoint customer they cannot provide DSL
connection since NorthPoint is suing Verizon. |

| Astoria,NY | Unreliable
Service, useless tech support, did not get anything that I was promised.
|
| Feb/21/01 | BQE | Long Island
City ,NY | Down for 2
weeks and counting. I keep opening tickets but they cannot find a problem.
What is this?!?!?!?What happended to the Always on i was
promised? |
| Feb/20/01 | Harve
Billheimer | Nashua,NH | I totally agree
with you Mr. Hell. They can't get their own problems straight so they take
it to another country and dump it on them. |
| Feb/20/01 | What the
Hell | Portland,ME | I spoke with a
Verizon DSL person in Ontario, Canada. They can't trust their own people
in the states. UNBELIEVABLE - Verizon's actually running out of money, now
hiring north of the border for cheap labor for cheap service! |
| Feb/20/01 | Doug | Somerville,NJ | Still down
after 3 weeks and approaching 4 in 2 days.. Have spend a couple of hours
on phone.. Constantly opening up trouble tickets.. Problem not found.. All
technicians have been nice, but what about my DSL... My friend on Staten
Island has been down for 3 weeks... Verizon has given me credit for my
time... But I want my DSL ???? |
| Feb/20/01 | DSL
Wannabe | Worcester,MA | Ordered DSL the
day after Christmas, installation date was twice cancelled, They still
don't have a clue when I will be connected, they said they will let me
know after they get their collective foots out of their mouths.

| Feb/19/01 | Brooklyn@nospam.com | Brooklyn,NY | Sorry, that
should have read: 30-60 days from the NEW update, which was made one week
later. |
| Feb/19/01 | Brooklyn@nospam.com | Brooklyn,NY | Update: called
Earthlink today. The install has been pushed back from 30-45 days to 30-60
days. That's 30 -45 days from the NEW update, which was made one week
later. |
| Feb/19/01 | Brooklyn@nospam.com | Brooklyn,NY | Ordered
Earthlink DSL w/ line-sharing. CO is not setup yet, even though they said
they were. Now I must wait 45 days for them to "upgrade"! I'm only 4500 ft
from the CO. |
| Feb/17/01 | Tom | Uxbridge,MA | Sorry! meant
10,000 workers |
| Feb/17/01 | Tom | Uxbridge,MA | Cheer-up
Verizon has just announced the lay off of 10,000 in yesterday's Worcester
Telegram. This may be a good sign. |
| Feb/17/01 | W.Weber | Edmonds,WA | I move my
business from one location to a new location. This required I transfer and
re-sign up for service. No big deal right? Wrong!! I did this in November
last year. I was given a turn on date in Nov then after it passed I was
given another and anothe. 4 different dates in Nov 4more tries in Dec, 4
more in Jan 2001 and the 4th one in Feb gave me the blessed 3 green
lights. Oh joy of joys I might be able to salvage something of my
E-business after not responding to anything all this time. End of story.
HECK NO! I had the 3 green lights with a new account instead of
transfering my account as asked. So the bottom line is from Nov. 1.2000
till today Feb 17.2001 I still have no service. After the hours on the
phone to talk to someone they said I would have to call and request a work
order to make the chage. How long will this take I asked? Oh maybe 7
working days. & work days to fill out a form and change a dozen
numbers in a computer. Gee can I work for you Verison I can double you
production by doing two per week even three if you have good coffee.

Support! |
| Feb/16/01 | John | Norfolk,VA | Jan. 4-30 to
get connected. Called SCC VA and VZ was calling me. Verizon's techs and
system sucks. |
| Feb/16/01 | Robert | Boston,MA | Pretty simple:
75 days after my order, DSL was still not active on my phone line...
What's up with THAT?! |
| Feb/15/01 | Patrick | Norfolk,VA | Can't wait to
get this nonfunctioning #@^%%&* blinking light modem off my desk
because they won't hook me up. Now the idiots call it "systems issues"
|
| Feb/15/01 | Gary
Robinson | Bangor,ME | Been waiting 45
days since my original scheduled turn-on date for DSL. Still no sync. I
call them every week. They don't have a clue. |
| Feb/15/01 | paul | whitinsville,ma | Verizon sucks ,
I signed up for DSL 3 months ago it took almost 2 months to get my modem
and install kit , eventually it came and so did the turn on date and to no
surprise I was still using dial up . After the Idiots transfered me around
in circles for more than a hour the !@##$$%%^^ told me that they
mistakingly droped my account and that I would have to call sales and can
you beleive sign up for a new account and start all over . I figure I
might be putting up with DSL blackouts by mid summer . I keep hearing that
its gonna get better but I wonder if anyone has told Verizon this . The
only thing that gotten better was how fast you can reach someone in tech
support that knows nothing at all about what they are talking about . What
the hell did I get myself into!!!! |
| Feb/14/01 | Doug | Somerville,NJ | My problem
started with the flashing green ready light.. It was also down for 1 week
a month ago. Now all nothern NJ is down.. Not sure if DSL will work when
NJ is backup.. Technicians have been nice |
| Feb/14/01 | Doug | Somerville,NJ | I have been out
of service for 3 weeks and counting.. Creating havoc in my household since
the kids and I must dial-up and tie-up our main phoneline so no calls can
get through... I dropped the extra phoneline when I installed the DSL... -

Wilkeson | Lexington,KY | Third delivery
date came and went yesterday. On the phone with customer (lack of)
service. They say my order, which I was told was DONE over a week ago and
was just waiting for the due date to be activated, is now in the
"rejected" bin, whatever the hell that means. The idiot I'm talking to
says she doesn't know why it was rejected and doesn't know who I need to
call to find out why!!!! I mean, WTF???? If anybody out there has an
alternative for me here in Lexington to recommend (other than cable
modem), PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post something here to let me know. I haven't
experinced worse customer service in my 35 years on this planet.

Oh, hey, I
almost forgot. You REALLY want to shake things up, find out who runs the
Utilities Commission in your state. In Washington State it's the Washinton
Utilities and Transportation Commission. A look in your phone book in the
State Government pages should do the trick! Contacting the Utilities
Commission will not only regulate their rates, but keep Verizon from
pulling this $H!T ever again. I called them once and got results in 2
days, and service by the end of the week.

Just to let all

fields enough customer complaints. So take a second and drop them a line.

here (wooohooo--lucky for me)but VZ tried to sell it to me. Cancelled my
cell phones die to poor billing practices, paid final bill. Am now in
collections for 2 months of payments that I have cancelled checks for and
2 more months of service billed AFTER I CANCELLED THE DAMN PHONES. For the
one or two here that say this must be a "competitor site"...blow me. Admit
there are serious, serious problems with VZ and they should be SHUT
DOWN!!!

Verizon sucks!
I ordered my modem from them. I waited for 3 weeks and I still didn't have
it. I then called again and they said it was shipped. For a week, i waited
again. They still didn't have my modem. They guys re-shipped and I got it
a week later. So, it took a month and a week to get the modem. Then, thats
not all. I had to wait an additional 2 1/2 weeks for the installer to come
out. That was ridiculous. Then, the guy couldn't get my line set up. It
took him 3 hours to get my DSL up and running. I tried to tell him what he
was doing wrong, but he was too ignorant to listen. Also, never try
calling them, EXPECT AT LEAST 50 MINS HOLD TIME!!! Verizon is
PATHETIC!

Verizon
promised DSL to us numerous times and after wasting numerous calls to them
found out we can't get the DSL from them, but others can provide it to us
SAD!! Also, switch your local and longdistance telephone service to
AT&T 1800 222 0400 or 0300 and save minimum $15 per month!

It took 3
months and a week for BA to install my DSL line bought from Covad. It
finally took a letter to the CEO and the threat of a $1 million lawsuit to
get some action. What's worse, I am a journalist, and they knew it! I have
over 20 pages of notes on this fiasco.

When I cam home
at 3:00 YESTERDAY I picked up the phone to make a call but I did not hear
a dial tone, instead I heard long beeps that sounded like a modem but not
as noisy. At that point I checked everyphone and both PCs to make sure
they were off, they were. I picked up the phone and listened a while,
about 10 seconds in I heard a recording saying, "101 Pair 1" it kept
saying that a few times. I decided to wait 30 min to see if it would stop,
it didn't. I then went to my friend's house to call Verizon. She said she
could send someone out tomorrow (Today) and told me to check the phones
and all that crap. I told her I would call later to tell them if they
should send someone out. I then called back at 7:00 and spoke to a guy. I
told him the recording I got, which the woman failed to mention in the
notes, and I was put on hold for at least 5 min. He then came back on the
phone and said it was a problem with my CO and it would be fixed by 2 p.m.
tomorrow (Today). I asked him what was wrong but he couldn't tell
me.

good god I live
in a qwest service area, talk about nice people they had my DSL line up
and running in 10 days or less. To all you verizon folks I HAD a verizon
cell phone and a 2 year contract and cancled after 9 months and still owe
them for the rest but they are never gona see that money, and I still owe
them $45 dollars from a check that did not clear my bank right and now owe
them fees but I will never pay that bill tell hell freezes over about 1000
times in a row. (in another words I will never pay them at all. They can
goahead and send the collection people after me but I still will not pay
them. To all of you that hate verizon move to a qwest / us west service
area they are the nicest people that I now and I have had us west / qwest
service with them for most of my life (about 20 years) and I am only 25.
Later and I am with you and lets get rid of verizon and other BAD phone
companies. Peace and have a nice day -- Damian

Corp. cell
phone was shut off for 6 days. Called cust. service, said bill wasn't
paid. Apparently, they tried to bill to a personal account instead of a
corporate account. Do you really think an contact named "Procurement
Services" is a non-corporate customer? Good thing I didn't have an
emergency during that time.

Oh, and another
thing; that stupid name ...Verizon... which they insist on pronouncing as
"Vor -I- zen," even though the first vowel is the short "e" ---as used in
"very"--- and the accent is usually placed on the first syllable, meaning
it should be pronounced VAIR -i- zhan ........ You know, it's never a good
sign when a big company like that can't even read. It's even worse when
they believe what their marketing people tell them is proper
pronunciation. Come on people, these are the same kind of folks that gave
us words like "infotainment" and "value-added." Every day in every way
they murder the King's English, one word at a time. Hell, next they'll be
telling us that 'phone' is spelled gheind (the D is silent!).
...........So if you ARE a customer of their's, start pronouncing their
name properly: VER-i-zhan. Come on, say it with me Vvvvvair-i-zhaaaaaaaan.
If enough people start saying it this way, they'll eventually have to
change it to something less stupid. You'll still be stuck with the same
guaranteed shi**y service from them, but at least you'll have the
satisfaction of knowing you made a difference in this great value-added
world of theirs.

After we were
late with a payment, Verizon cut off our cell phone sevice...but didn't
tell us. (You would think that in the 2 bills and FIVE pieces of junk, er,
direct mail marketing touting their fabulous service we received in the
interim this fact might have been mentioned). Gee, good thing there wasn't
an EMERGENCY in the mean time. After getting no satisfaction with their
service department, we decided to drop their wireless option entirely and
closed out the account. The next month, we start getting notices from a
collection agency about late payments on an ACCOUNT THAT HAD BEEN CLOSED.
It's obvious they are too frickin' big for our own good, as one hand in
the company doesn't know what the other is doing! Forget Microsoft---bring
on the Feds and smash Verizon in the smallest particles
possible.

I have had DSL
service provided by Telocity, which in this area basically resells Verizon
DSL. Ten days ago, Verizon mistakenly disconnected the line the DSL was on
(I switched my main voice line to a different phone company but kept DSL
line with Verizon). Anyway, finally got Verizon to reconnect the line, and
of course the DSL works. ISP blames the telco and telco blames the ISP.
Well today (1/31) I find out from Verizon that my line is not capable of
doing DSL. They say the central office is not equipped for DSL service
(total lie since at one time I worked for a CLEC and installed DSLAM
equipment in the very same C.O., right next to Verizon's DSL equipment).
Verizon tells me that there is no way I could have ever had DSL service on
that line, despite my having working service on that line for the past
seven months. Talk about rediculous. If you live in Eastern PA, look into
a company called CTSI, if you are lucky you can completely switch
telephone companies, lines and all.
