5/6/02 Bernadette Howard Vernon Hills,Il All i wanted was a new phone because the one i had for 5 years broke and wanted the same service plan.I tried calling the service number on the bottom of the billing sheet and said it no longer avaiable. Verizon said i had to move to another two year plan because its digital not anolog now. I don't use the phone any different my bill use to be 40 dollars now its 60 dollars for a phone just being used for emergency of if i get lost.When i call the other number for customer service they said i should of bought the phone outright and I could of stayed on the same plan. I told the fella at the verizon store all i want the cheapest phone with no extras. He said I had to sign up for one of the digital. I hate getting screwed and being lied to. What can i do?

Last month, they "didn't know why" my service had be disconnected. I am mad as hell and I will be chewing someones ass tomorrow morning.

Apr/11/02 Walter Seattle,WA Just switched from one wireless plan to Verizon Wireless. I have been charged double the minutes of my previous plan without changing the way I use the phone. Nothing but bad reception, dropped calls, no service areas, Customer service that provides nothing. Verizon refuses to let me out of my contract dispite the problems I have documented and provided to them. (They have replaced my phone 5 times ("Cant be the coverage area"?) Do yourself a favor... STAY AWAY! Verizon Sucks!
Apr/2/02 SCREWED BY VERIZON Chicago,Il VERISON potential Fraud on customer bills: OVERCHARGING by boosting number of minutes of recording voice mail. If you keep going over your minutes check amount and length of recordings and how long your message retrieval is. We can not delete the message until the recording is played. I suspect VERIZON is making cell pohones go over the number of minutes by adding recording time.
Mar/12/02 Patrick Layton Newburg,MO Purchased cell phone through Radio Shack, I did not give verison no permission whatever (federal offence. At the time of purchase by the rep of verizon that I wouldn't have any problem with getting out of any area (except one) I was unable to get out of lots of areas by either being cut off or calls being cut off. Also was not told at time of purchase of any type of cancelation fee or time limit. I'm personally tired of being ripped off by phone companys, AA&T Sprint, MCI and I could keep adding more. At the present time I could not get this matter resolved by verizon over the phone. Which they turned over to a collection agency in CA. Now I'm getting lots of phone calls from them. Bottom line is they run all the copper in New Jersey, you can't get a circuit without them, thats why they treat their customers badly.

Jan/27/02 Matthew Cox NY What I find so weird is, my phone bill for 2 phone lines. 1 with callerid, voicemail, variable ring control (able to set the amount of times it rings before going to voicemail) and the second line with call forwarding. The total roughly $69.00.. So I drop ALL of the services, no callerid no callwaiting, no variable ring, no call forwarding and my bill is the same goddamn amount. ODD :)

Jan/26/02 ZELDA BENEZRA BROOKLYN,NY Verizon made me wait for a phone line for 6 months. Even my roommate placed an order got her her phone line. For some unexplainable reason they did not do my job. Everyday I called and talked to managers and everytime they said engineers are working on my service and it should work in two weeks, but weeks turned into months and after spending at least 50 hours on phone with all existing supervisers and managers, I got my service. I think they they should be ashamed of theirselves.
Jan/26/02 Rick Sheil Fairfax Station,VA I live in the Fairfax Station area of VA and unfortunately have 3 Verizon lines in my house. I have been in this house a little over 2 years and have had to make 40+ calls for service. This was either due to excessive noise, line completely dead, or crossed lines that were so bad I could carry on a conversation with the person my line was crossed with. My lines are out again today (Saturday) and the tell me they will not have anyone out until Monday. What great customer service... Whoever said this isn't a monopoly, needs to look up the definition in the dictionary..
Jan/25/02 David Washington,DC I suggest that the producers of "Dateline" (NBC) be contacted and alerted to the numerous complaints associated with Verizon - billing, etc. Makes for an interesting story I think. Should you decide to contact NBC, it is suggested that this site and the others be mentioned. I have friends who have worked customer service for wireless companies. And in that respect, I understand that overbilling is sometimes intentionally done by direction of management.

We are under continuous pressure to be polite, courteous and sell. Just remember that we cannot come out ourselves and fix your DSL service or cell phone or even your residential service, but will try everything in our power to get you to the proper office.

In attempting to cancel service, I was informed that I was tied to a contract I never agreed to. Dec/14/01 Curtis Rushing Lake St. Louis,MO I posted on 11/16. I called everyone at Verizon that I could get a hold of and they actually replaced the wire. Things are working well. I am shocked, but pleased. Keep bugging them (and keep track of everyone that you talk to) and it work out.

Bottom line I'm getting only 240Mbs download speed vice the 1.5Mbs that I'm paying for. I have made multiple calls to customer service and engineering and nobody has been willing or able to help me. Two dispatches have been no-shows (what a waste). This problem started as a Verizon issue last week and has yet to be fixed. "We apologize for the wait. We know your time is valuable," my ass!

I have faxed this proof to them on several occasions and even have had a conference call with my bank's manager and a C.S.R. from Verizon. They still claim to not have received the payment. They have shut off my service twice since the original payment, so I repeatedly have to fax proof of the same charge in order to get it turned back on "temporarily" until the claims dept at Verizon verifies the payment. I'm about to have a coronary because of this. They took my money, but they say they don't have it. I keep trying....

Oct/31/01 PO'd in Pennsylvania Morgantown, PA I haven't had service in two months. After several attempts to call their forever busy 1-800 number finally got thru. Said they'd turn service back on (why did they even turn it off, ofcourse they didn't have an answer to that--I had $50 credit--jerks). After 2days service still wasn't restored, so I told them to cancel my service and reimburse me MY money and they told me it would cost $200!!! to break my contract (I don't even remember signing such a g-d damn contact!!).

Oct/13/01 Lori Cleveland,OH Our phone was stolen in a robbery. Verizon charged me full price for the free phone and then I also had to buy a new phone at the full price. If I cancelled the contract they were going to charge me $175 PLUS the cost of the "free" phone. Its time some government agency eliminated the loop hole Verizon has with their "contract". Wireless service is no different than land phone service, these contracts should be illegal.

Next month I received late charges because I did not pay the balance that I did not owe. Called again to get credit for late charges and credit that should have already received. Lets see what happens now. I was told I needed to pay full amount then I will be credited what should be and the late charges stay. FCC HERE I COME. Get me out of this contract!!!!

Sep/10/01 pdial st louis,mo 2 phones qualcomm 860 piece of junk. dead battery all the time, very bad reception lost calls.advised i would continue 2 year contract if they would just get me phones that worked. was told have to sign new 2 year contract and you do not get the advertised phone price you have to pay the full price. they would not just replace my play phones(they may as well have been because they did not work 50% of the time ) and let me go on with my contract. i was told to get out of my contract it is a penalty of 200.00 per phone. i have since switched to at&t and been billed 200.00 on on contract and getting ready to cancel the other phone and will i am sure get another bill for 200.00 for that phone

After competition showed up, their tech guys are there when u need them (mostly). The government should totally break it up and setup internal affairs because there's DEFINETLY a fraud case going on. Jul/31/01 Phenn Clearwater,FL Had Verizon DSL service. Moved. Told it was not available. Got billed for it anyway. Told it was disconnected. Got billed again. Found out it was turned on at old address. Asked to cancel again. They did. Then, they turned it back on at old address. Kept getting billed. Called again. Called again. Called again. 5 months later, still getting billed, still have service at old address and no one knows if it's available in my new home or not. More than 20 phone calls. More than 2 bottles of Captain Morgan. What a bunch of wankers.

Didn't your company install the phone lines I asked???? They told me that I must have not had the service because they were a new company in my area. Well duh! you A**holes bought out they company in which I had service with you should know. Buyer beware.
