Aug/7/02 Richard Klyman East Moline,Illinois I signed up with Verizon Wireless 4 years ago with a plan that gave me 30 minutes free a month for "a lifetime" as long as I stayed with Verizon. Now Verizon says they do not want to program their computers for this plan anymore so they will no longer honor the original contract.

Aug/3/02 Michael Boston,MA I had Verizon Wireless for bout 2 years there service was horrible, plus every time i wanted to change my rate plan i had to sign 2 years contract... that really SUCKS,,,i finally disconnected my service with them and went to Cingular Wireless which service with them is great i don't have any problems with plus everetime i want to change my rate plan for a better one i just call them up and changed any time without signing a 2 years contract like verizon require it...I really recomend Cingular I think there the Best out there

McNeely Alamogordo,NM Verizon would not forward bill to the new address and disconnected cell phone service; I finally receiced a bill for over 175.00 and sent payment in and still did not get service, and the next day recieved another bill for over 350.00. I called t customer service and the man I spoke with told me I had to pay the bill and would not get my service reconnected. I paid the bii to keep my credit record clean, but I will never use Verizon again nor will I recommend them.
Aug/2/02 Sandra G. Lakeside,CA When I got Verizon I was suppose to get free roaming.We went on vacation and when we got our bill we were charged for roaming over $100. Plus after 6 months we were suppose to get a $150 rebate. Every time I would call they would refere me to someone else.They said that we exceeded our limit every month and I know that we did not. They were not in any way willing to help us with these problems.I will never never go with Verizon and have had nothing good to say about them to all my friends
Aug/2/02 Marika Handakas Bloomsburg,PA For the brief period of time I disconnected my other long distance service and asked that my new choice be registered (my choice was NOT Verizon) Verizon put in an order to change my service to their company without my request or authorization. When my new company tried to hook me up, they refused access to the account until I called to complain. Naturally, the waiting time to talk to a human lasted much longer than it should have.
Jul/30/02 James Elizabethton,TN I usually do not speak out against things in which I have nothing nice to say, however, I feel that Verizon's treatment of their customers and employees deserves many of the notes posted here. I (as many of you) have had trouble with Verizon. We have had problems with customer service, billing statements, and most aggravating of all, changes to the contract we signed. We signed a one year contract. It most contracts, the contract doesn't change until the end of the term. However, in Verizons case, they feel as if they can change it whenever they feel like it. Maybe legally they reserve that right(in question), but this makes for a poor business practice. I can relate to many of the complaints/claims listed in the lawsuit. In our case, we were given detailed billing as part of our one year service contract. A few months into our contract, Verizon decides to remove it. I was told that they had mailed a statement explaining the change. If they did, it never made it to us! I just wonder what would happen if I mailed them something explaining how I had decided to change my contract. How much weight would that carry? Not much! I think that Verizon will get out pretty easy with the lawsuit pending. They will probably spend more in attorneys fees than they will in making things right with their customers. keekeerun@hotmail.com
Jul/26/02 Jake Buffalo,NY I used to recommend Verizon to all my friends.. I always had good luck with the customer service, and cellular service. I religiously check my minutes to make absolutely certain that I don't go over my allowance. One night I called and it gave me the usual message and I had used 205 peak (out of 200) mins. The next day I called to check and I was at 335 mins. I definitely did NOT use 130 mins overnight. When I got the bill I was shocked to see that I had "Delayed Billable Airtime" from 2 weeks PRIOR to my billing statement. When I called the customer service to complain, the rep told me that there was nothing they could do, I told them that I didn't think they were "working for me" like their new slogan says and I asked how I am supposed to keep track of the minutes since the phones are no help in tracking them and all the consumers are at the mercy of the automated system which OBVIOUSLY doesn't get updated frequently enough. She told me that I should track the minutes in my head like in the old days. I asked if she expected me to believe that Verizon's technology is dated to the 80's and that I should keep a scrap of paper and log each call I make. She said it wouldn't be a bad idea. I can't believe in this day and age with Verizon being such a HUGE corporation that they can't get the call information quick enough to report the calls when they can have a phone turned on in the system within seconds. Just doesn't seem to jive. I think it's a gigantic scam on the consumers and completely validates the class action lawsuit against Verizon for this and other reasons.
Jul/23/02 Gina St. Louis,MO I have been a customer with Verizon since the Ameritech days and have been treated horribly by their CSR. I paid my cell bill of $203.74 on 6-26 with a check over the phone and on 6-27 they took out another $203.74 and now on 7-23 the problem is yet to be resolved. My phone has been shut off 2 times in the past 2 weeks. The problem caused major overdrafts in my checking account totaling over $200.00. I have threatened to cancel my service and so has my family and Verizon says oh no don't cancel here we will give you 1 month of free service. Sorry but I don't see that as proper compensation for spending endless hours on the phones with people who are nothing but rude. I have written a letter to the President and to the complaint dept. let's see if they are any help. If anyone knows my legal rights please email me at daddys_monk99@yahoo.com.

Jul/16/02 bond...james bond Tampa,FL Isn't there someone out here with some knowledge of the law and the one year contract everyone is speaking about. There must be a way out of this verbal contract. I would imagine a knowledgeable attorney, who has also had the same type of problems with their cellular service, might know the loop holes or at least have advice on what to say to these people that tell you they can't and won't let you out of your contract, no matter what. For I to am fed up with Verizon for multiple reasons. Thanks in advance...

Jul/9/02 anonymous fullerton,ca I had a lot of problems with my Verizon cell service and phone. Replaced phone. Service still bad. Help was alo bad. I refused to pay for the service until they corrected the problems. They shut off the phone without any warning. I stiff refused to pay and tole them I had damages resulting from incompleted phone calls. Their collection service called me and told me I would have a felony added to my record if id did not pay. I asked them if they were threatening to charge me with a crime! The collector repeated that I would have a felony added to my record if I did not pay. I asked him again if he was threatening to charge me with a crime if I did not pay! He then hanged up on me before I could tell him that that is extortion. I called them back and complained, and now I will sue them. Before I could get to that I discovered there is a class action lawsuit.

Two customer service reps said that they would credit the account..they never did. I live on disability income and they are still saying I owe them this money and charging interest on it every month. They are the phone company from HELL and are a monopoly .
Jul/6/02 Kenneth Naches,WA Verizon has told me I would recieve $45 in credits that I've yet to see, Called to tell me repairs were 'finished' before anyone even came out (took 3 days more to get it done), and has had the wrong name on an account over a year and dispite numerous calls still hasn't fixed the problem.

There has to be some class Action law suits here. call Denny Strigl-President & CEO and James J. Gerace -VP Corporate Communications...let them know what is going on.

5/24/02 Scott Hampton,VA I was a verizon DSL customer since April 2001. Two days ago I called Verizon to add my name to the account and to take my girlfriends name off. I was going to take over payments since I had DSL setup on that number. I told the chick that I didn't want to make any changes to the service on the line, just switch the names... As soon as I get off the phone, I get kicked off the internet. A technician shows up at the door and says he has to go in the back and tag the line. Before he leaves he says that he didn't know that I had DSL and that he's not certified to fix the problem. I'm thinking he took something off that he wasn't suppose to. Another tech comes out the next day. Spends an hour in the back then comes to the door and says that my DSL was cancelled. So now I've got to call the main office and explain that I didn't want my DSL terminated and to hook it back up immediately! That doesn't happen. They want me to wait damn two weeks for them to activate it again!! ARE YOU CRAZY TWO WEEKS!? What if I had an online business up and running, you want me to tell my customers to come back in two weeks or so!? June 3, is their expected date two activate my line again. Took them 5 minutes to drop me, and now like I'm a brand new customer I'm suppose to wait around for two weeks. I cancelled their SLOW DSL service and order COX CABLE HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS. They're not going to take two damn weeks to come out here and hook me. They scheduled my appointment for next Tomorrow at 2pm. Verizon sucks!
5/18/02 Adam Monticello,KY I signed up on Verizon DSL about a month ago. I had trouble setting it up, so I called their help line. The first woman I spoke with, was rude and actually hung up on me. The second person I spoke to was rude as well, until I fixed the problem. I am now having difficulties surfing at their supposed "fast" rate. About 200 kps less that promised. Verizon sucks, if your thinking about getting it, DON'T!

If Ivan and Chuck had some good sense they would send all of the Call Center activity to Iowa or Arizona with a weak union and a reasonable salary for the un-skilled labor the job offers. VZ has to deal with the terrible service the $75,000 per year techs offer for service and security. It would at least save my 401K plan

THE SALE TATICS OF $50.00 FEE NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS BULLSHIT CONTRACT... THAT STICK IT TO SO MANY OF US WHIND UP BEING IN THE AMOUNTS OF $100 - $200 MONTHLY - FEE NIGHTS IS AFTER 9PM AND WEEKENDS ARE A JOKE YOU BETTER WATCH YOU STOP WATCH ON THAT BULLSHIT LINE... YOU GET CHARGE TO RETEIVE YOU VOICE MESSAGES ... AND THEN TO TOP IT ALL OFF THE REPORT YOU LATE ON PAST DUE BALANCES TO THE CREDIT BRS... THE SHOULD CALL THEMSELVES PAYMENT IN FULL MONTHLY VERIZON CELLULAR WIRELESS.....
