They were rude, evasive, deceptive, and did NOTHING to help me. Their only response to numerous complaints was to "INFORM ME THAT THERE WAS A 175.00 DOLLAR EARLY TERMINATION FEE" that I would be subject to. Believe me , never, never, NEVER, EVER consider VERIZON FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!

Verizon claimes that they have a contract with Cell One to use Cell One's tower's in area's of poor reception. This is a complete lie on behalf of Verizon. A class action lawsuite against Verizon wouldn't be a bad idea.

I too and my family started with verison service plans and after poor service, incorrect billings for months, run around service for corrections or reembursments we dropped all our calling service plans. I never went back to another plan yet. The family members all went to other service plans after having paid large early disconnect fees for terminating early for such poor service. Class action lawsuit...aaaa..."can you hear me now"....

After billing me $612 they conceded the error, but were unable to send me a corrected statement. I just got a new bill, and there are 2 mos. charges on it, after they told me my acct was up to date. They have repeatedly charged late charges without sending me an updated bill. F#CK this sack of SH!T company.

Feb/22/03Michael Brady Moscow,IDPhone salesman promised services NOT offered in my area, joint time for my two lines, email, browser, etc. -- DID receive credit for the service lies; however the STarTac phones' have a switch would malfunction keeping me from hearing the caller. I was offered replacement refurb'd StarTacs--told me to pay ANOTHER $100 if I wanted a new mode. A service rep told me a week and a half ago that the problems was "known" and she herself had gotten rid of her own StarTac. They knowingly provided phones which they knew were likely to be defective. I have just "negotiated" an end to the contract today - we'll see if they honor the verabl promise not to bill me for the last couple months. VW had contacted through SPrint locally, so that's who'll get MY business...

After getting that refund I canceled all service with verizon but they keep charging me monthly fees. Repeated phone calls have not stopped the bills from coming.

It seems that everyone is getting screwed by this company even if they don't know it. I suggest all Verizon customers look closely at your bill and read your contract. If you don't, you shouldn't be surprised when they show up at your door with a scalpel and an ice chest.
Feb/10/03Mitch Alford Henderson ,Tx I am a victim of fraud, and althought other companies, and banks are working with me, VERIZON just keeps sending me collection letters, although I have made them aware of the situation. STATEMENT FROM MARCH, all charges on this statement were made to people I dont know nor know me, out of state. My home was broken into while I was away for a few weeks. This is how my info was obtained. Other companies such as CREDIT CARDS, ATM, AND BANK DEBIT PURCHASE CARDS, are helping and the unauthorized user ran up approx. $20,000.00 VERIZON we're talking $222.16 turned over to collections, VERIZON needs to call those people on the 3/02 statement, the one I skipped paying. Maybe they will know them I sure dont!!! I replied in writing on 8/29/02 and never got a response.
Feb/10/03Customer Service Rep Eastern,TNI work for a wireless company in their customer service dept. I do not like Verizon for the same reasons most of you listed above, I've been ripped before. But in retrospect, keep in mind, the people you talk to on the phones, aren't the people who go out & fix your problems onsite. Sometimes there is only so much we, (people on the phones), can do. We try to get you where you need to be to get your problem fixed.
Feb/5/03Betty J. Hudson Decatur,GAI got a phone call, from an underwriter that verizon uses to offer a "special discount" on 2 phones, basically for the price of one. There were no questions asked such as: how much do I travel, how much do I plan to use the cellphone... If the oppropriate questions would have been asked then I could have been set up on a plan that best suited my needs. Being that the proper channels were not taken through verizon, I got all kind of roaming charges in the amount of $1,700.00. I also, was not informed that if I used the phone outside of my city or the state of GA there would be roaming charges.. I feel that if verizon is going to have an underwriter working for them they should be trained properly. I called verizon to explain the situation but they said nothing and didn't do anything to justify the situation. Verizon decided to cut one of the phones off, and I had to pay an extra $200.00 for that phone. This is POOR business for Verizon and they will NOT be getting a referral from me for anyone to use there service.

I called the store and told him it wasn't working out. I was told to bring them back. They refunded my money. I called Sprint and they gave me 2 new phones to not cancel! Then I get a $400 bill from Verizon. Seems like I was roaming the whole time. So much for America's Choice!

Jan/19/03TwohigPawtucket,RII had a cell phone account, paid the bill, and hardly ever used it. Then one month instead of the regular bill of 30 or so dollars I get a bill for $512. It seems that I had underpaid one month, I guess I accidentally wrote the check out for 30 instead of 36 or something and instead of calling me and straightening it out they just "decided" to charge me $480.00 dollars. I shouldn't be surprised that they didn't call, they probably couldn't get through.

My bill sky-rocketed and have had problems using Verizon ever since. I refused to pay a very high monthly bill and of course they sent it to collections. Since we occupied our new residence in Aug. of 2001 we have had nothing but extremely poor service and our phone could not be used about 50% of the time. Repeated requests for repair were ignored or delayed. This has caused us great problens and inconvenience. It is clear that Verizon is solely interested in collecting cash without providing good or even adequate service to its customers.

I didn't know about it until I received a notice from collection agency for $3,083.19! Called customer service & they reviewed my account & all personal information was correct (except the bill went to a P.O. box). They refused to give me the billing address, without first filing a police report for ID theft. I filed police report as requested & faxed. Still no results. Police dept. has issued a subpoena for the release of this informaion, over 2 months ago & they still won't disclose. They are protecting the criminal, it seems, but not helping me at all. I'm the victim here! I don't know where to turn. Any suggestions?

Verizon continued to bill us for several months after we ended service and they expect us to pay $150.00 even though we were not under contract. They sent a collection agency after us.

They misrepresented our calling area. We were charged for calls to our phones that were on our family plan that were suppose to be free. Dead spots in areas that we were not told about. As a matter of fact there is a dead spot in front of one of their verizon stores.(Can you hear me now?) What a joke!! The customer service department is so unhelpful. Every month having to be put on hold to speak with someone about your bill that they then say they cant do anything about. Wasted time and money when it comes to verizon wireless. We were told that there was a known problem with the plan that we are on and instead of switching us to one that works we would have to start all over with a new plan. What kind of customer support is that??If you want a better way to talk to your loved ones..get some cans and some rope and start talking.

In speaking with the rep by phone explained that the 800 minutes that I and my son have are not shared like 400/400 that it is first come first served were her words. The advertising and marketing aspects are false. Your whenever minutes are not viable and it appears you can only use your phone on the weekends.. I want out of my contract because of it..It's sad thing when a big business can not be truthful about their business. Hidden charges are a ripoff. I have paid $1000 for two $50 phones what a joke..

Dec/19/02Laura Auton Johnston City,IL I had verizon for 6 months and I was in my calling area and my phone said roam so I stopped in at verizon and they used my phone to call another phone line and when I got my bill I was charged roam so I went back to Verizon to have them take the charge off since I was in my calling area and also wasn't my call they wouldn't make it right with me so I ask to get out of my contract because where I live I couldn't use my phone in the house I had to go outside to use it and I was mad they wouldn't take the roam charges off my bill and the tax always went up every month so I paid $175.00 to get out of my contract and now I'm with Suncom and I can use my phone inside my house or anywhere in the world and not have roam charges.. Verizon sucks. Customer service was very rude I asked to talk to the supervisor and I told her my story and she said I can't do anything about that. I feel she could of. I talked to another lady after I cancelled my contract who works at Verizon and she said they should of made it right with me and took the charges off. but no they didn't so they lost yet another customer....

Dec/11/02shannon litteton rowlett,txI called to get service with verizon last year. I was told I needed to pay a deposit of $150. So, I paid my deposit, and was mailed my phone. When I recieved my phone and I found out I didn't have service in my area. I put in a call to verizon and was told I would not be able to get back my deposit and would be billed for phone and accessories. I then spoke with a supervisor, who apologized and offered me a different rate plan. The new rate plan would not charge roaming fees for texas,oklahoma, and arkansas. He also gave me an extra 150 minutes a month. Well, me service was always being interupted because all of the above was a lie. I continually was going over my spending limit because my phone was roaming all of the time.

Dec/11/02 JP Niles,MI 2) Signed 2 year contract paid $400 deposit on two phones. Was told deposit returned in one year. One year this month. No refund in site. Was told late payment made pushes deposit back 6 new months. What late payment? Jerks.
