I tried it, and had trouble in my house (no cell sites nearby) so I cancelled and got my money back. I soon got a bill for $212 for cacellation. I called and after agueing for an hour they told me they would reverse the charges. Soon I got another bill for $212. Four times I called and was promised that the charges would be dropped, but they never were. They turned me into to credit reporting agencies and ruined my credit. They lie. Bold face lie. Horrible company. Horrible.

Mar/9/05KevinWesterville,OHWhen buying a mobile phone from Verizon, they will ALWAYS tell you that your phone comes with an accessory pack (car charger, earpiece, leather case). What they don't tell you is that they charge you an extra $50 for those accessories. If your phone is advertised at $100, you can get it for $50 if you drop the "included" accessories, but you'll never see that they are optional unless you read the fine print.
Mar/9/05Jason GrebLakeland,FLI was getting a Nextel before you could do the phone number transfer thing, so I went to the Verizon store about it. They told me I could get a prepay phone and put my number there until I had told everyone my new number. I bought the prepay plan and the minutes and waited the 24 hours they told me to wait before I could transfer the number. I was then told via customer service that I could not do that. They said they would send me money back for the prepay minutes, but the store would have to credit me the activation. The store would not credit me back, and Verizon never sent me the money back. I hate Verizon. I can't wait to get Vonage so I can get rid of my local Verizon service.

Evidently badapples@yahoo.com got into her account, and stole her credit card info. This is the 3rd time it has happened, even with the high security password. I contacted corporate security to launch an investigation, and corp. security cussed me out ( literally ) and told me to tell the cust. it was their problem not ours, due to the disclaimer they 'electronically sign' when they register for the website.

Mar/6/05JJVentura,caOh, by the way, for those complaining someone did this or that to their account, there is a little thing called a password. Put it on your account so that everytime you call to make changes, you have to give em the password first. They always ask for it and won't make account changes without it. ....and write the password down so you don't screw yourself and blame more things that are your fault on Verizon.
Mar/6/05JJVentura,caPersonally, I always hated AT&T, but the bottom lines is Verizon is one of the better cell companies around. No, they aren't perfect, but hey, call customer service and you will get thru in less than 2 minutes MOST of the time. Other companies can keep you on hold for 30 minutes or more. Like other's have said, read your contract, know what you're signing, and live up to what YOU signed. If you really hate em that much, pay your $175 fee to cancel and sign up with some other company that will probably be worse than Verizon.

Mar/1/05David M.Portland,ORReceived a collection letter today for an alleged past-due amount of $44.29 owed to Verizon from 3 YEARS AGO! I did use Verizon DSL 3 years ago, but when I changed service, I paid my final bill. I called Verizon residential collections today to get information. The rep was pretty stupid, but he seemed sincere, and promised to send me an itemized statement, along with a copy of the $44.29 bill they allege I owe them. Meanwhile, my STELLAR credit has taken a hit because Verizon did not bother to get in contact with me about this earlier -- I would have resolved it then. Now I'll have to spend dozens of hours writing letters and making phone calls to get it cleaned up. AND I WILL!

I said, "yeah... what's up?" she said, "She used to work with me at the bank." I replied, "So what? why are you so freaked?" Feb/16/05RichHavertown,paI had Verizon's Dsl internet for a little over a year, in the beggining it was great. One day my internet stopped. Verizon's tech support was horrible, I was on the phone for 9 hours with their help people. They did not tell my to unplug the cordless phones and they ran a test over hte line that fried 3 cordless phones. Then they senbt numerous people out to tell me that there was something wrong with both computers in my house. I then replaced the parts that they said were bad. Still no good, over a month and no help. I finaly contacted the local cable company about cable internet, i plugged in the cable wire and it was fine. It took verizon over 3 months to give me a refund to my account.

Verizon charged me for all of the oversees calls in addition to the other company. Called them up and told them we don't have a line with them, and sent them bills from the 011 company they claimed they didnt care and I had to pay the $2682.10. Worst CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't keep record of conversations. Cut my Line, both cell phone and Home Phone"!!!!!!

Final straw they changed my plan without letting me know about it and we have a $1,400 bill. They are jerks. Changed to CINGULAR, great deal and talk with folks that have good sense.

She left her credit card behind and we received a phone call shortly after from our credit card company that someone was running up suspicious charges on the card. They issued a new credit card. We told verizon that we were 'outta here' on our cellphone agreement because they tolerated criminal activities on the part of their employees in the Front St (santa cruz) store. They are now trying to collect $360 because we ended our agreement w them because of such activities. I am handicapped so it is hard to get out; thus my wife would now have to deal with verizon and she is afraid to go back to the verizon store.

Jan/4/05ScottSwitched to verizon from cingular back in august.(big mistake) I had to pay the $400 security deposit... Ended up cancelling service 2 days later b/c it sucked. I was told I'd get a full refund since i cancelled within their 15 day grace period and would only be charged for the few calls i made in those two days.....so today marks the 5 month anniversary that verizon stole my $400. I have called them at least 10 times now, only to hear that they've sent the request and to wait for the next billing cycle. Every day i check the mail and no check from verizon, i do however get a billing summary stating that i have a $400 credit..........its like they're teasing me.......considering legal action
Dec/30/04charlottest. petersburg,FLVerizon changed my cell plan with out my authorization. I was unaware of this, so when I went to WI, I was charged $1100 for roaming. Then when I went to cancel the plan, I got another $175 for early termination fees. I have had Verizon for two years and had problems since day one. I would not recommend them to anyone. Talked for 2-3 minutes to daughter and charged not only for additional minutes but also had to pay extra the price per minute. Have tried to address with customer service, but they turned my account over to collections when I told them of the problem and then colllections added on an additional $500 for the collection fee.

We spent almost $1000 on overage charges this year alone and I want my money back. But, we all know the evil Version Wireless will not give me my money back. Said they can't fix it and would need to buy new phone for $200 bucks. Will now try to get out of Verizon contract which has 1.5 years left. Also can't get signal from my house at all. Told it was to bad.

I pass as many out as possible on a daily basis and so do my kids.I am happy to say that they are working. Many people thank me for the information.I have had several people change their minds after reading my flyers and they check out verizonpathetic web site. I will continue this practice as I am doing the public a service.

I've had my share of people that have reduced me to tears so I've decided to take action and just hang up on them. Trust me ... we know Verizon sucks and just want to help get you back on line. The problem is the company is too damn big and doesn't care about anything other then their precious numbers. The employees that work there are just as frustrated as the customers! Please take it easy on us!

Like others have written, they said they were working on it. It was never resolved. I was turned over to collections for $2840 (Nearly $1000/month I was charged!). I need some guidance on how to straighten this out.

My question to them "so you're telling me Verizon can just say we told them to renew and hold us to it?" Verizon rep's answer: "YES" and we have to pay a $900+ termination fee. When I was asked if there was anything else the rep could help me with I said "Yes, go to www.verizonpathetic.com"! Verizon lies, I have cancelled the 2 T1 lines and my home service with them.

Can You Hear Me Now? Just goes to show how lousy there service is if they need to have that nerd in there ads asking "no one" on the phone if they can hear him now. If Verizon claimes to have such WONDERFUL Service, then why do they receive such large amounts of complaints from there customers and why do they have customers terminating there business with Verizon? Call your local BBB before considering dealing business with this company, once you become a customer with Verizon, good luck leaving without having them harrass you for the rest of your life.

Have copy of cashed check stamped by verizon,they cashed it, they continued to send bills stateing not paid, then turned it into a collection agency we faxed copies numerous times of check to verizon and collection agency only to be told by an employee they will just laugh at that because acording to THEIR records it is not paid. It has ruined my credit and I cannot get a student loan to continue my education. I paid, they lied, I have the proof I paid and have an apt with an attorney in two days. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT ever use verizon!!!!!! My education and career is now on hold because of them!....
Jul/19/04Plamen TodorovSaint Paul,MNHi to everyone who considers verizon wireless for a future wireless provider. If you speak English with an accent BIG MISTAKE!!! The customer service will yell on you for calling them too often and asking to many questions! In addition to this ask for your contract on paper, do not trust their online service, and keep it to the end of it. It is very likely otherwise, that they will push you around and bent the conditions of your contract on the way that suits them best. If you do not have something to prove them WRONG, you are doomed. Their customer service will monkey you and humiliate you on a way you had never imagined before.
Jul/7/04Dave MarseeRedondo Beach ,CAI tried to move my phone service to my new residence, using Verizon's online service. On the effective date my new number was assigned to a secondary line instead of the primary line and although the service change was made from their office, the only way that Verizon is willing to correct their their mistake is to charge me $85/hour to rewire all of the primary line phone jacks to connect to the single phone jack which is working. In an earlier call I was told that the problem could be corrected through their system but for $35. I spent approximately 2 hours speaking with 4 different customer service reps and one supervisor who refused to give me the number. I don't believe either explanation. Verizon Customer Service is dishonest and their employees should be ashamed to work for such a corrupt organization. If anyone knows how to contact the National Director of Verizon's Customer Relations department by phone (very doubtful this is possible), I would be most appreciative, as I doubt that a letter would ever reach this individual's desk.

After trying to cancel, Verizon tells me that the new plan that I HAD TO switch to because they switched billing software commited me to a new two years. WHAT?! They reported me to creditors for $350!

Each month, billing errors added to over $150, example, I was giving a long distance number 50 miles from my house by the store. Charged extra minutes, billed for wrong plan. Three months of this nonsense. I'm paying the money to give the phones back.

Ten percent of the population of our country has a VZW cell phone. Twenty-four million customers can't be wrong! Most problems that I deal with are from customers not taking care of their own affairs: E.g. not saving receipts, not reading their bills, not keeping track of minute use. Yesterday I had a customer ask me for a copy of his contract. Buddy, it's your contract, you should have kept track of your copy. They should change the name from "Customer Care" to "Baby Sitting".

I was a loyal verizon customer for three years and had good service until Oct. 03 Then they made a mistake and overcharged me to the tune of $285.00. They immediatly admitted fault, and for four months managers assured me that I would recieve credit. Still havent recieved it after at least 12 hours on the phone with them. They LIE! Do not believe any thing they say. Unfortunately, laws put us at their mercy and our wallets at their disposal!

I rarely hear negatives about other wireless companies. Just verizon. Sprint is your best deal. Go with SPRINT!!! And contact your congressman right away!!

Im tired of paying up the wazoo for cell and home phones, when are these phone Companies going to figure out that people are really tired of the charges that are costing more than a house or car payment out of line. People want to just stay in touch with each other without breaking the bank also internet cost that are added to that add it all up and I might as well live in a cave. Lets get real and figure out something a way to break them before they break us! People need to make them realise that we hold the power not them!
5/9/04Verison Must PaySomewhere, USAVerison is destroying my life. They have claimed that I am using call forwarding for over a year. This show's up on the bill and gives the appearance to my wife that I am leading a double-life. Especially whent their customer service reps swear that i am absolutely up to no-good. I have not EVER used the call-forwarding feature. (it also, by the way costs extra.) They have not only overcharged us, they have destroyed us.

When contacted them, they said only received a part of the bill, which according to records I kept was a load of bull.. I have enough proof of bills and payments made that I told them to take me to court if I was wrong. Told their collection agency the same thing when they called... Havent heard a thing since...Im sure its on my credit report.

I purchased a new phone (at the full price) to continue my service. I then received a bill for $175.00 for the old phone. I complained because I was told I would not have to pay for the stolen phone when I purchased the new one. They finally credited me for the $175.00 and so I thought the issue was resolved. Needless to say, I got a copy of my credit report and low and behold the $175.00 is on my credit report as a delinquency.

Feb/2/04AnneApalachin,NYWe combined our (2)dental offices to one brand new location, we were organized and on top of everything and we had arranged Verizon to hook up phone lines well in advance (1 month). The week before we opened we found out they weren't going to install our phone lines for five more weeks. After countless time consuming phone calls even with supervisors (of course never getting the same person) we were hooked up with a vice president who a family member was aquainted with-the phone lines were hooked up a week after opening This necessitated us to use our cell phones which accrued $400 additional charges on them. Nevermind lost clientele who were upset with getting an answering machine at our other location giving them our cell #"s. Of course our rollover couldn't be put into effect because there were no phone lines to roll over to. One of the comments from the person we spoke with was well you shouldn't have called us at the last minute. They owe us for the cell calls, stress and lost clientele which could never be counted. It's a monopoly! Of course we're being charger for the most expensive plan which we didn't sign up for. Imagine that!

Jan/31/04Stacey RothHilliard,OHI did not pay my bill due to some questions I had and they send me a bill for $575 to pay off the 2 phones I got and to get out of the contract. I called and spoke to a rep and they cleared that charge and told us to just pay the original $116 and call it even. So the next month I get a bill for the $575 again and I called and they said that the rep never adjusted the bill or the screen to fix my account and they put on their manager and he couldn't explain it either, so to make a long story short, they credited my account and I have only 2 months left with them and I am going to Nextel. There are charges on my bill that they can't even explain to me and don't even understand their own policy. Go Figure!!
