Verizon ripped me off with overage charges because i'm not responsible enough to stay under my minutes. They also ripped me off because i keep breaking my phones and they keep making me pay $300 dollars for new ones, even when i only had the phones less than a month each. but i definitly wont buy insurance. I am such a victim. Verizon wants to rip me off. Thats all anybody does is try to RIP ME OFF!! everybody is out to get me. They wont even let me access my ex-wife's account because i'm not a registered user. whats up with that? Nevermind that i'm a total jerk and try complain and complain until somebody gives me what i want. kinda like when i was a baby, If i wanted icecream i had to either scream and cry for an hour or scrape my knee on something. Stupid verizon.

Aug/4/05rob aHyattsville,MDI have an ongoing DSL billing issue from 2003! A two month credit was issued, but billing never recieved it. 2 + years, numerous calls, and three collection agencies later still no resolution. Customer service is utterly miserable. I hate them. oh, how i hate them.

Yep, everyone from NYC, NY metro, the whole east coast pretty much arent even talking to verizon. Anyway, they force their employees to work for a little above min. wage and lie. I had a high risk pregnancy and because I was not married, I was released for being a bad role model. Anyway, long story short, I got paid off, and supposedly everyone's happy. Nice to be that big and screw customers, and employees huh?

I was a good employee and had worked there nearly 4 years. My new supervisor personally didn't like me and she claimed that I made supposed racial remarks to her. However, what those remarks were, etc. were never explained to me. Simply because there were no racial remarks made to her by me. I had worked hard and was dismissed unfairly and with no reason and so they made up a story. What can I do?

Her phone number seems to be the only number I am not allowed to call. Weird ha! Verizon is not the service for anyone in Florida. Go out of state an get Cingular; at least they wont block out you from making calls.

I went to a family re- union in Ar. last week and talked to several people, two of which were on verizon but do not plan to renew their contract. I advised them to read the posts on this site. They are now both convinced more than ever to sign with another company. We all must do our little part.

Jun/20/05Eileen HartPhiladelphia,PAvictim of identity theft and subscription fraud ten years ago, haven't had Verizon wireless in years, received a collection agency notice out of the blue for over $700. Contacted Fraud Department, they sent me letter stating that the charges would be dropped and all collection would cease, low and behold, Verizon decided that they changed their minds???????? Now they are calling me a liar after I went through all the trouble of filling out an affidavit and a police report. I have no idea what to do at this point.

Then, they straight refused to hand over our telephone number to Vonage. It's almost 3 months now since we've requested the number to be transferred. VERIZON should be shot, or at least mutilated.

I was being charged for EVERY minute of usage, even though my plan allowed for 600 minutes. They'd charge me for that and then charge for every minute all month. Customer Care rep told me to "Find a new carrier" if I didn't like it. I did!

I have given them THEIR conformation number, conf. from the bank that the bloody damned bill was paid AND a copy of the canceled check!!!! NOW they are shutting off the shitty DSL 'service' which has been down twice for at least 24hrs each time in a single month. I am reporting this to the VA dept of consumer affairs and the FTC. I am tired of this horse shit!!! FUCK VERIZON

5/29/05Patricia WatsonLas Vegas,NVI fight Verizon the only way I can. I tell everyone I know and every stranger I meet what a con company verizon is and just how lousy the customer service is. I have saved many people from thier greedy jaws. These were people I didn't know but listened to what I said. If everyone who has had the screws put to them did this it would be very effective. Go stand outside a verizon store a few hours a week and inform innocent people of what they are getting into. Its a worthwile thing to do. I have done this for nearly three years now. There is power in numbers so c'mon and join me. Its also fun, I mean badmouthing the crooks. LOL
5/27/05TaraWashington,DCMoved from VA to DC (10 miles) and tried to move my DSL. From past experience, knew the service transfer would take weeks. But they didn't warn me that the interstate move means my email account itself would be CANCELED ENTIRELY in the THREE WEEK interim. I conduct my entire life by email and everything is falling apart without access. Thanks Verizon.

5/11/05ChadTemecula,CAThree weeks ago, April 28th, my DSL stopped working yet the phone line is fine. The tech never showed for the first appointment and I lost wages waiting for the idiot. Then I spend another 3 hours on the phone, troubleshot with 3 morons and was promised a new modem. They sent the wrong one. It arrived at 2 PM not early AM as I was promised. Unable to submit my classwork nor download my test packets I was screwed. Another 3 hours on the phone and another missed tech appointment yesterday and now I'm up to 7.4 hours on the phone and 16 hours of lost work. Not counting the 3 classes I failed to submit work with nor the time on the phone taking time away from peaceful endeavors. Today is the 11th of May and some yahoo tells me my trouble ticket of the 9th of May shows the 16th as the next day to look into my connectivity problems. What total arseholes. Other neighbors in my prefix are not experiencing problems. How hard can it be to get someone out here to fix it? If I had other choices, I'd tell them to sodomize themselves and take my business elsewhere. Most if not all the gomers I've spoke with are incompetent boobs. To Hell with verizon.
5/4/05ChrisBuffalo,NYI HATE VERIZON !!!! They have been my provider for years. Never have I had a good experience. Give us free nights that start at 7pm and don't make us sign a contract everytime we want to change something. Also once you have fulfilled the contract you should get the same rates because you have been a customer for 2yrs. this might make me want to stay. I have till Dec 05 and I am out I should have bought out of that contract from the beginning I would have saved money and my sanity. That "add a phone for just 20$ has cost me much grief and WAY WAY more than 20$. I could have bought the company by now.

Additionally,I barely use my cell phone and I still receiveD bills over $350. THE PROBLEM THAT THIS COMPANY LACKS IS THAT THEY RE NOT AWARE THAT WORD OF MOUTH IS SO IMPORTANT. ANYHOW, I MADE SURE THAT I ADVISED ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS, INCLUDING FRIENDS NOT TO ENROLL WITH THIS COMPANY.. THANKFULLY, I HAVE T-MOBILE NOW AND THEY ARE THE BEST. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXTREMELY POLITE AND ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO ASSIST YOU. NOTE THAT MY BILL IS NOW $75.00 :) P.S I HAD SPRINT AND CINGULAR AS WELL. SPRINT REPRESENTATIVES ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL;I DONT KNOW WHO IS HIRING THESE PEOPLE. WHEN IT COMES TO CINGULAR THEY SUCK AS WELL. AFTER 9PM I WAS NOT ABLE TO CALL ANYONE. GO FIGURE ITS AFTER 9PM' ITS FREE SO I WAS NOT EVEN ABLE TO USE MY PHONE... FURTHERMORE, THEY WERE PROMOTING A NEW PLAN, INCLUDINGA NEW PHONE SO I DECIDED TO UPGRADE. STILL, I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE MY PHONE AFTER 9PM.. SO PATHETIC, SO I RETURNED THE PHONE. SURPRISINGLY, THEY DID NOT WANT TO REFUND ME $50.00 DUE TO THE FACT THAT I OPENED THE BOX... UMM HOW COULD HAVE I USED THE PHONE W.OUT OPENING THE BOX. THIS COMPANY REALLY STRESSED ME OUT;THEY DROVE ME OBLIVIOUS.. ULTIMATELY, I WOULD RECOMMEND T-MOBILE TO ALL. AS A CONSUMER I KNOW THAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS THEIR PRIORITY... T-MOBILE :)

Apr/27/05KayAnnandale,VaI signed up for "Come Back To Verizon" for $39 or $49 a month and was brow beaten into trying the DSL even though I told them I did not have a computer that was working and would not be buying a new one for awhile. My phone bills were like $60 a month not from long distance but taxes and who knows what else not even DSL charges. Then when the DSL thing showed up I didn't have anything to install it and sent it back 2 weeks late. Now they have shut off my caller ID and long distance because of my refusal to pay the $100.00 and for monthly DSL sercice. Repeated phone calls have not helped and they didn't want to give me a name of a CEO or address. Wrote him a letter and NO Answer. NOW WHAT DO I DO. NEXT THEY WILL BE SENDING ME TO BAD CREDIT.

Apr/22/05SharonDallas,txReport them to the state Public Utilities Commission or the state attorney general for fraud! Any time they bill you for something they haven't provided, or fraudulently induce you into buying or upgrading service - report them. I'm working on my second fraud complaint now (in a month!). Also check if your state has a consumer protection act. In Texas, you get triple damages, and they have to pay your lawyer, or you can get the court to issue an injunction against them for certain acts.

I've called about 8 times and gone to their business about 3 times but they still don't correct it. They just sent me to the Credit Bureau for a $50 bill which I do not owe! I will contact the Federal Trade Commission on this.

Then how did you overwrite my site with a copy that was 6 months old! Well, at least I got a nice note in the mail saying that many other people had the same issue...geez.
Apr/15/05RalphNorth Vernon,INVerizon is horrible because I got the DSL and none of the pages were loading. Everything was white. No pages were showing up. I couldn't even get a technician over my house. I called Verizon 15 times or more. They act like I'm stupid or something. I know my computers. Ok? I did everything that they said. Even Compaq told them that it was a ISP problem. Everytime they got further or tried to help me, they hanged up. Also, they put my friend on hold and hanged up, too. The modem had a yellow light. One time the modem worked. Thats one time. I had to lie to Verizon to close my DSL account. I told them I wanted to close it and they made it hard to cancel. I switched internet providers because of it. Also, my friend got the service going and I didn't,which isn't fair. I think thats really uncool. I just wanted internet. Is that hard to ask for?

If you are still working for Verizon, like me, be careful about what you post because I'm sure VZ agents check this all the time. I personally could care less about what information people put on here, but I would hate for someone to get caught for this. So like I said, at least stay anonymous if nothing else.

Promises to correct the problem or credit my account for over $1000 have not been fulfilled. They have good coverage but who cares for coverage when you are over-billed $300 every month for 4 months in a row. I am switching carriers.

Unless you can keep up with *every* payment, I don't suggest it. I've been with sprint and haven't had any problems until recently, but that's because I'm a dumb*ss and couldn't pay my bill. I also agree with the comment that verizon does not take enough safety precautions in password sharing. I know many techs that don't verify the information in full before giving the information. The sad fact is that humans can tend to be lazy. No I'm not standing up for them. I abhor anyone who is reckless with others' personal information, and I empathize with any victims. Mar/20/05TylerNew York,NYI am a telecommunications engineer in Manhattan where Verizon thinks it rules the world. They rape this city for all it's worth. My advice to you is to use vonage, I just had a meeting with them last week and will be suggesting their services to my business customers as well as personal friends for home use. I think that their unlimited residential services run around $30/month with outstanding international rates. So get a cable modem and call Vonage. The only drawback that I've seen is that you cannot get a paper bill from them and will have to use a credit or checkcard for payment. (this helps them keep the costs of service down.) If she is that scandalous to call Verizon and have that block removed so she can receive collect calls...probably from her boyfriend who is in jail, then she is scandalous enough to gain the password to your account to make the neccassary changes!!! Mar/18/05bob maustin,tsI am SO glad my contract is finally up, and I can change to Cingular. Me and my son have been counting the days - just 4 days left. My gripes are many. But the latest one. When I initially joined Verizon, they had 'rollover minutes'. Within about 6 months, they sent me a letter saying this feature was being dropped, and I would loose all of my rollover minutes. Apparently, they got so many law suits, they modified the policy so that I could no longer ACCRUE rollover minutes, and they would be capped at 5000. Of course, the first time I tried to use the rollover minutes, they 'accidently' charged me the overage. It took about two months, and many calls to 611, but they eventually reversed those charges. A year later, I tried to use the rollover minutes again. I got charged. This time they told me the rollover minutes we good only from the primary phone and not from additional phones on the plan. The previous overaged was also from a secondary phone. Since the overage was on a secondary phone, I got charged a few hundred dollars. Verizon will not reverse this charge. I am leaving Verizon. Any time someone asks me, I tell them STAY AWAY FROM VERIZON. They are liars. They are evil.

Mar/10/05N/ASouth,USAAfter a month of issues, witch included dropped calls, and a bill over 400.00 (calls I never made) I was told that the bill could not be changed, but atleast I was told by a tech that if a latest fix would not fix my problem, that I would be let out of my contract for free. Well I did have issues (dropped calls etc) called back with the info (tech name, the trouble ticket number, and date and time of call) they said no such record existed, and that I would not be let out free. I then was handed over to a manager, I explaned that under the freedom of information act, that I formaly requested the documents. They responded saying "you and what army, you would need a court order, cause you ain't getting it" then they hung up. I switched my number to cingular, then for two months I spent calling vzw and cingular to fing out why when people called me with out using the areacode, even local, it would not connect. Anyhow cingular called vzw (I was on hold for a few hrs while the manager talked to them) and vzw finaly fixed the "computing error in a tower" issue. I HATE VZW, I love Cingular. If Verizon is the only phone company when I move to another state, I will go with a cable company voip setup. Screw em.
Mar/9/05ChristyHelendale,CATried to get DSLExtreme over Verizon phone lines. DSLExtreme explained that Verizon would not release the lines. Called Verizon, who said "some ISP" had put a hold on our lines. I explained that it was THEM who had put a hold on my lines, which they begrudgingly confirmed. Even after they admitted to being the whole problem, and that there was no logical reason for our lines to be held, it took no less than *4 months* before they finally released our lines. Perhaps they were hoping we'd give up on DSLExtreme and just go with Big V instead? I wish we had SBC in our area...
