Jun/28/06Former Verizon CustomerFlagstaff,AZI was with Verizon for about a year and seven months and had enough of them! Their customer service (at their store in the Flagstaff mall) was the worst customer service I had ever experienced in my entire life. When you go into the store, they take your name and then totally ignores you while you wait for someone to help you with something, then whoever comes help you make you feel like a total idiot. Then comes the phone bill that is totally outrageous and when it comes to replacing your phone, they don't check to see if the phone works before giving it to you! They gave me a phone that permanently shuts off after like 5 days and made me lost over 100 phone numbers that I had in the phone. And worse, I get the worst signals of all the networks. It sucks when you see your friends who are on other networks have signals in their phones and you have no bars in your phone because of their shitty network. I really feel sorry and pity my friends who works for Verizon (one of my friends told me her boss at Verizon is literally the devil from hell) and those who are on the Verizon network.
Jun/23/06Lyn...I was a Verizon(former Bell Atlantic) customer service/sales rep for almost 7 years. Working there is a nightmare. The base pay ($25/hr at top for home phone service reps), benefits, and bonus pay are great, but it is living hell. You have to walk on eggshells and try to sell on every call. I have had lots of people give my supervisor praise for my great service. What did I hear from him---nothing, all VZ and other large corporations care about is $$$. I told them that...you see, you guys need to blame that big CEO in New York IVAN SIEDELBERG that makes $6 BILLION a year and that doesnt' even include his stock holdings!!! He and management pushs us to sell and rides our backs if we haven't sold so many points every day...So don't get mad at the reps when you call in...they have someone looking over their shoulder and monitoring their calls...just be glad you're not the rep behind the call...it is torture!
Jun/21/06employeesomewhere,caI don't know why you customers keep on whinning, bitchin', moaning, and complaining and act all hurt cuz VZ didn't treat you right. When will you understand that VZ does not care. As long as they are getting their money than life is good. When you call in to complain, the rep you're talking too most of the time does care and would really like to help you but the company won't let us. We have things we have to say....things we have to sell...and things we have to do. That is what is important on that call. It's our job at stake. We don't want to lose it cuz we missed doing something on that call. Your problem is the least of our worry when you call in. We can only 1/2 listen to you cuz we have to concentrate and make sure we "hit" all our REQUIRED crap. SORRY
Jun/21/06dirkdigf...ck verizon,njhi, i was a verizon employee for almost 7 years and recently lost my job due to a scratch on my truck that i was never aware of. the union is trying to get my job back since march but no luck.meanwhile, a fellow technician gets caught buying drugs on company time by cops and arrested, gets his job back in like 3 weeks.this is the reason why you people are here 'cause of dumb ass management decisions.i was loyal and responsible and had a good record with them.i apoligize on behalf of these idiots......
Jun/20/06John WintersRichmond,VAI WILL NEVER USE VERIZON AGAIN! I own an internet company and I CAN'T GET DSL RECONNECTED!!! I moved two doors down from my old office. TWO DOORS DOWN!! I have been through hell and back with incompetent reps. If I have to hear from one more supervisor tell me "We'll escalate this", I think I'm going to throw up!! Verizon is too big and too mismanaged. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. We're now going on 25 days without DSL. I'm furious and will be spreading my story to upper management, internet forums, government reps and whomever will listen.
Jun/18/06JoinerLawrence,MAI recently lost a companion of five years, had to move due to financial status, and change service thru VZ, I also have a best friend that works for them, and I'm doing a presentation on them for a biz class. Well the newly found hell hole that I've moved into has only one phone jack, and I've never heard dail tone from day one after transfering the service of course I called VZ to let them know what was going on, well they tell me that yes there is some technical problem yet,I needed to fix it if the problem was on my side of this grey box that's somewhere on the side of my building. Now don't forget this is Lawrence,MA the home of minorities for this northeastern area, which of one Iam, myself. There is locked chainlinked fencing on either side of the building where I can not get to this grey box, with only seeing the landlord once in the past 4 months It's been a nightmare just tring to get to the box. Apperently Verizon feels that Iam responsible for this slumlords problems. If the promblems on their side they'll fix it, not in this life time. I ask if they would dissconnect service until I can let them know who's side of the "Grey Box" the problem was on they never disconnected the service. A few months later I recieve another bill for the increditably low price of about four hundred bucks For a dail tone I've never heard. Every time I get on the Phone and talk to these people it's like dealing with the incompetent,all I ever hear them say is we can't.You would think with the billions of dollars these people have, they would appreciate a vauled ten year customer enough to have at least fufilled my request of disconnecting the service. Well I'm going to speak to the once more and then I'm going to the better business bureau, because this is what they deserve. Broke college kid LAW-TOWN.

Why? cuz compared to what's out there VZ is better!! There are times for some that it may not be but bottom line is that the pissed off customer has to suck it up and come back. Once again that is 82%!!! And that my friend is why they won't be "getting it". THEY DONT CARE not about you the customer or the employee. SORRY
5/31/06laurieBerkshires,MADue to poor, incompetent arrogant customer service I have switched my 6 wireless phones to Cingular, my residential phone to road runner all in one, and my business phones are about to all be changed to another carrier. I am not the type to switch around for pricing(as running a business I have enough to do) but the incompetence and arrogance will not be tolerated, even if the new service costs me more. When are companies going to get it? You cannot treat your customers poorly!

5/18/06alanflushing,nyverizon wireless is garbage. all their new phones are pretty much locked. i recently bought a razr which was locked, motorola phone tools multimedia center wouldn't work with it. they purposely lock the multimedia center to force people to buy their crappy ringtones and wallpapers. a bunch of garbage.

5/11/06Josh REast Troy,WII was told that I could sign up for a $24.99 a month plan and use the Internet. My bill for the month was over $500! I tried to fight it, and they boosted it to over $800. Then they put it on my credit report, and they are referring me to a collection agency.

5/3/06madALOur contract was terminated with no notice and we asked for documentation for this practice and were told there was no documetation by the csr and a supervisor..however, we found it on the web, they lied..secondly, our service was terminated without notice on April 13th according to the verizon csr and supervisor, but we were sent a letter from them dated April 14th and that we received on the 23rd that stated we owed ONLY 190. balance and that we had 5 days to pay THIS amount, no other fees were on this letter whatsoever. so we went to the store to pay 190 and were told we owed 500+ on April 24. On April 25 we called verizon and was told they would waive the cancellation fee but we had to pay 125 per phone to reconnect and that the 5 business days stated in the letter of the 14th did not apply...this was not listed on the letter either that was dated april 14th. SO basically they sent us a letter that was a lie?

Apr/27/06Jane DoeHell,NYJust an FYI to all of you out there....Verizon now does credit reporting to the major credit agencies. You owe a bill, it will be on your report for 7 years. And please don't ask me to remove it from your report, if you didn't pay it on time, it stays. So treat your phone bill like a credit card. Also, don't complain that there are no more payment centers that are authorized, not my decision,it was a "business decision". And I HATE self serve (pay by phone or web), even though I am forced to promote it, it will phase out my job. And while that may sound good to some of you, you hate talking to a computer now?!?! No reps, no human to talk to, so think about it. And as to the fee for pay by phone? Vendor fee, can't waive it, can't change it and I CAN'T input the information for you, due to "security purposes", whatever that means, and I only have 205 seconds per call, if I go over, and don't get it under that on average, I can now be suspended or terminated. Customer service? Verizon? Get real...welcome to the new Verizon, where customers will now get treated like the employees....

Apr/3/06DanAltoona,PAJust moved, attempting to get INFORMATION only (so far) for business and residential voice phone service (POTS)... I have called their customer service lines 7 times today and been disconnected 3 times, routed to a busy extention 3 times (each after navigating their SLOW VRU for EVER), and finally reached a rep, but the connection was so horrible we could not hear each other... Their Website makes it incredibly hard to get quotes, and even requires you to HAVE a phone number in the area you are trying to GET phone service. Incredible.

I am already paying for intext/pix messaging and now have to pay $5 + data fees? outrageous. Called, spent 2 hours on the phone, they said there was nothing they could do for me. I told them I want a different phone, they said that I was out of my 30 day trial period and that I have no choice. I told them to F off and fix it. They did. I'm selling my treo on ebay and goign back to my LG 7000.

Mar/12/06Dan W.Indianapolis,INI have a $59.95 plan for 800 minutes plus unlimited nights and weekends. IN calling is also included. I went OVER on my time by about 100 or so minutes and my bill ended up being $160!!!! I went over because I was deling directly with Verizon on one of their 1-800 #'s with problems relating to my girlfriends account!!!! I spent over 1 and 1/2 hours with them on 1 CALL which I was charged for + various other small calls to them....SCREW these thieveing BA$TARDS!!!!!

(never went on the internet or used Vcast or get it now) so verizon reps told me it was my problem until i realized that on of these 3 400 min data calls over laped on an actually call i made for 2 hours. then it was a well known problem. and they decide to credit me on the next months bill (so i still have to pay the extra 543.39 dollars that was added to my bill (personally i dont have that kind of money sitting around. so i canceled my service.. Btw i had a Razr v3c (stupid version of the razr made for verizon) id love to use so many swear words about verizon but ill keep it clean to respect the site. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH VERIZON!!!!!!!

Mar/8/06lauri verizon customer repSomewhereMost reps r not awful...especially Calif...we r old reps & stive 4 customer service. Unfortunately Verizon makes us "sell". We have to offer products and services on every call. If not we can be disciplined. We old reps don't want to sell...we just want to help the customer but Verizon is making it hard. We are timed on how long the call takes....what we said on that call....and did we make a sale. We are timed and monitored for everything. Even bathroom breaks. We no longer get hot water in the bathrooms or kitchen!!! (saves the company money). In an office of 300 people the bathrooms and trashed are not tended too everyday (saves the company money) You can't be out sick more than 2 days a year or you are written up. They treat the employees like crap. Most of us are there to help you and if you don't come on the line like an "a-hole" we can usually take care of things. Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....don't eat, chew, or burp in our ears and REMEMBER that we can hear your toilet flush GROSS

She gave the contract to the buisiest person in the office and said I had read it(i had not) and now they want 819.00 a month. Obviously cancelling the ad was out of the Question they mailed the signed contract to us well after the cancel date.

I have had VZW for 2 years the past 9 months getting seriously, and rediculisly over charged totaling a madning 6,000 dollars. i just got my bill for this month 2/25 bill. And it was for 304 dollars. Calling in i realized there were reactivation fees and prorates that i was told wouldnt be there. Not to mention there in ability to keep the plan i want on my phones. Every time i turn around my plan is no longer on my phone they changed me from a 1400 min plan to a 700min and insisted that they didnt do it and that i called in to do it. Umm HELLO WTF dont they think i'd remember that? in any event its the same with the txt messages and downloads im just getting totaly raped. on the phone tonight i spoke with a sup and a the end of an already pointless phone call he says "I notice your bill is past due." I then say "Well if i didnt have to pay more for cell service then i do to live maybe it wouldnt be. You should stop raping me and give me what i pay for. And you can take that bill and shove it up your ass." then he decides to say as im haning up "Would you like to disco your services?" (something in customer service your never supposed to do, yes i know cause i work for RCN) I just hung up on him.

I can't believe this crap. I'm TWO days late on my bill and verizon is contacting me left and right. What the CRAP is that? Only 4 more months then i'm kickin' them to the curb. VZW needs a major restructure and MAYBE this crap would be easier to deal with. Too bad i've had so many problems. My most recent beef is that they are CHARGING ME for DEMO APPS. That made me wanna kick someone in their damn eye.
Feb/20/06JimFredericktown,moI switched to Verizon and there was no digital service near our area. 10 days after signing up I receive a call from a bill collector saying I was behind in my payments. I had not even recieved my first months bill. I was so feed up with their crap I cancelled. At this point they actually owed me my deposit. I had to file a claim in small claims court to get my $$$ back. WHAT A GARBAGE COMPANY. CHANGED TO CINGULAR AND HAVE NEVER REGRETED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feb/20/06RudyBlacksburg,VAVerizon is jusy a very bad structured company. The helping line, unless is something really easy, they can not handle a problem. It seems like they just pass each other the ball. I have had numerous problems with Verizon. I am still waiting for my deposit to be given back that was due November. Last deposit from Verizon I waited 6 months! I also have the problem that they charged me for an early cancellation fee, even thought I moved to an area with no Verizon Service. I have faxed my bills from my new place several times and so far I have heard no news. Again they will probably just pass the ball between themselves. From my experience Verizon is a really bad company and I am planning to take legal action against them, if anyone has some kind of information I would certainly appreciate it. Feb/13/06BOOMSHAKALAKATHE ANGELS,CAI'm am a Verizon employee in the phonemart. People come to me for help because I'm there ony face to face contact with verizon. Most of the time I can't help them but yet I can only put them on the "ringdown" phones (three phones in the corner). I feel embarASSed because they came for help to me and yet I'm putting them on the phones! Something the could of done (or have done) from home! To top it all off we have on the phones "direct lines" which, to be real honest with you, are not so "direct". We have a motto every year, this year it's "Wow the Customer". I find it very hard to do sometimes (unless the customer is cute).
Feb/11/06Vijay MMorris Plains,NJverizon - "We never stop working for you" Infact, their customer service does close at 11pm and doesnt open until 6AM. I cant get signal inside my office. But Calls drop outside of my office as well, right off a big highway. So, i called them and they said we cant help because your phone number is from alabama. you have to call alabama department of verizon. I speak to alabama dept, and they say they will get back to me, but they never got back to me, how many ever times i check back with them. Sometimes, Verizon renews cell phone contract WITHOUT LETTING CUSTOMER KNOW about it, when he switches between price plans. Be cautious

Feb/6/06Garrett GallowayTally,FLi had my wireless phone insured(e815) lost it, and it took 4 weeks to get it back, insurance claimed that they didnt have any in stock....so i just went ahead and took one in the rear and paid 175 to cancel the plan and got another carrier...now verizon is claiming that i havent paid my last to bills, i paid on time as usual....wouldnt they have turned off my service anyway if i had not payed for 2 months???? idiots

It seems every month I am having to call them regarding the billing on my 2 land lines. For the most part they go threw and say everything will be fixed on next months bill Sir. Get my bill the next month and here we go again! I wonder how this company can screw up so many times! It is almost as if they are doing it on purpose to wear me down! NOT! Today I am canceling one of the Verizon land lines and soon will cancel the other Land Line and will never give Verizon any of my business ever again! Small step towards putting Verizon in a Grave but I have at least threw some dirt on it!
Jan/18/06 Anonymous Palm Springs,CAI HAD all of Verizon's land line services, including their Freedom Package, DSL etc. In February of 2005 gave a cash payment in a CALIFORNIA office for $300. and was credited with $200. I fought it but the result was that nothing could be done. My mistake for not keeping the receipt. I accept that. I didn't find out about the error until the following month and had tossed the receipt (if I indeed HAD gotten one) ... ...So being behind the eight ball now for a hundred bucks all year ...I paid a bill in November and they took away all of my services in December with out my knowledge because I didn't pay "enough" ...I paid what the girl at the counter asked me to pay ...I received NO NOTICE of the discontinuation of my Fredom Package. Verizon is saying that she would have had no way of knowing what I owed. SHE is not in the billing department BUT an employee of the Phone Mart????? At this time I had picked up a fax machine, printer and scanner in the Phone Mart and had returned to the counter to pay an extra $25.00 dollars!They removed my services and I was never notified, so my bill is now $400 AFTER paying $230. two weeks ago... a total of $630 for two months of service...I''m on a fixed income and this is ridiculous. I called over and over and have spoken with billing, customer service, the executive offices in New York...no one would give me the phone number for the Executive Offices in California. I understand that there is a woman CEO in California and the last call that I made I was asssured that my story would be told to her for review. I think it's odd that no one is willing to give out a phone number for an office of a reputable company. I've been on the phone for four hours and have been given the run around ...and have been laughed at basically by Verizon's smug employees that have all but called me a liar...over the fifteen word limit...but very frustrated. None of this makes sense to me. How did I acrue $598.00 worth of charges in TWO months? My bill should have been $98.00 a month and no one is willing to adjust it...

Sad to say I do believe some are true. But I also must say that most seem to be problems created by the cus themselves. Or they are not Verizon issues (Porting etc). I invite small bus cus in NY to call & ask for me. If I can resolve the issue I will. There is a responcibility on the cus to know & understand what they are agreeing too. I had some problems on my Service Ready Date, and decided to cancel, I went back to a third service provider. It was even worse. I went back to Verizon, and I discovered an excellent service while expressing politely to the agents who attended my on the other side of the line. I discovered that Verizon helps you only if you talk politely... But no doubt from my other 2 ISP's Verizon is the best. Sorry to spoil your comments guys.

I needed dial up for my business. To be put back on a plan I agreed to pay a bill that I did not owe. Only to have service not hooked up as promised. After several days I had a dial tone and completed one day of work with a bad connection. After 2 days a technician came out. He came a day after promised. I was not home. He scewed up my phone so that I have no phone service once again. I called right away and was told a technician would come out after seven days. I said this is an emergency!! You have screwed up my business life for 2 weeks. The person responded that they could only come out if some-one in our home was on life support. I was not but geetting close.

He told me it didn't make sense and that I should be perfectly fine. Its just a switch they have to flip. After 600 minutes on hold and talking to reps who just can't help, cancelled verizon home phone and dsl. I hate them with every bone in my body. Oh and definately hate verizon wireless. Mystery charges every 2 months that come out of no where.

Four months later, I am still receiving bills, and suddenly, I am being charged for installation charges from 8 months ago, even though I have the cancelled check and bill to prove that I paid it! As with many people here on this site, Verizon customer reps are usually clueless, baffled or otherwise ignorant. Countless times I have been told that the problem has been rectified only to receive another bill in the mail. Now a collection agency is invloved and I blew my top. We'll see if the ensuing phone conversation had any effect.

It's plain burocracy, most of the guys here even my supervisors transfer costumers to DSL or billing even though people have on the line for hours and when we are surely able to make accounts from the site activate.verizon.net and ommit the 1 hour wait for a billing rep or to wait till monday when they open if the cx calls during the weekend, they don't do it!!! (I help every costumer including with these issues that are out of my ''support boundries''). I think verizon needs to train its employees to handle billing-dial up and billing-DSL tech support and billing with the same person. I earn 3USD per hour here in Mexico, cheap company could be paying more. Oh and another thing never accept the installation disc that they send for dial up connection, IT NEVER WORKS. (my name at the Call center is Gerard so you know who can help out ;)

So I just got a bill from them today thats about 4 times larger than it should be. I called a sales rep there and he actually yelled at me on the phone and told me its my responsibility to make sure they update their equipment. After I got done laughing at him I asked him to send me a paycheck from Verizon since I was supposed to be working for them. He got really angry and put me on hold for 30 minutes. When he came back he told me they would give me a "rate adjustment" but they arent going to credit the LD carrier I chose for jipping them out of 4 thousand dollars. Yeah I use that much LD every month and I STILL get treated like crap by Verizon. Too bad there are no other LECs here in Idaho. Thank you for CHOOSING Verizon, as if you had a choice.

Oh, and they also are being sued because they sold bluetooth phones that they crippled most of the functionality on.

Sep/7/05RamondaLawrenceville,GAI was happy with Verizon's service until recently. This March 2005, I replaced my cell phone and was told that I had to sign a new contract. I asked for a 1 year contract, they slipped me a 2 year contract. I didn't catch it until later, but it was too late. I had a 1000 minute family share plan and last month we accidentally went over the limit by 300 minutes. Well- my bill trippled. I asked them to reconsider the extreme charges because the 1400 minute plan only cost $20 more. The $281 bill that I received didn't sound fair. They would not agree to any type of negotiations and will not let me out of my contract until 2007. I think this is a trap and a rip-off. Other providers (Cingular & Sprint) have already made provisions to stop overcharging their customers by offering roll-over monthly minutes or additional overage minutes for only $5 per 100. Many of our previous months, we did not use the full 1000 minutes, but paid for them anyway. Cingular and Sprint are way ahead of Verizon on the way they treat their customers. I would love the change to one of them ASAP, but the Verizon $175 cancellation fee and having 4 lines which would cost me $700 to cancel the contract makes it unfeasible to cancel. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get out of this contract in a less costly mannor, or am I doomed to have to deal with this until 2007?

My boyfriend has addmitted to this, he has told me unbelievable things about how verizon wireless has broken the law, he has gotten into my phone records at work looked at who Ive called and who has called me, we got into a big fight and I called up a employee of verizon wireless and he was talked to by his boss in the back room but, nothing was done- he still looks on my phone records- he said his boss does it and other employees do so obviously it is a regular occurance- and no big deal. Now I don't know what to do, I called the police and they told me to talk to the supervisor problem being that they won't do anything. I feel that I have been vicitimized more than once.

Aug/21/05john doeniagara falls,nyever wonder why some verizonwireless reps try to keep to on the phone for over 5 minutes?quality assurance.the representitve is forced to finely review your account with you and make sure that they have "wowed"you."WOWED"is a term that was developed in the quality assurance deparment at teletech that insures that they have annoyed you enough to stop calling in.it makes you say wow that rep was so nice.if any rep does not wow their customer eventually they will be written up or even fired.so even if you just called in to see how many minutes you have used or when your bill prints,they still have to review your balance ,"remarks"account documentation that is kept and noted by every agent every time you call in,minutes used ,price plan.the best way to get less agravation when calling in is to hang up.
Aug/21/05john doeniagara falls,nyverizon wireless does outsource inbound customer service calls to teletech holding inc.because of their cheap tactics to save money ,it costs them a class action lawsuit.when i worked at this outsourced call center ,where we were constantly always told not to credit customers anything over $50.00 for an error made on a bill with out supervisor approval.before i resigned from the company i was written up in several cases for crediting customers over the fifty dollar limit.in one case this elderly man had called in to get credit for a termination fee on a canceled line because his wife had died and was the user of the phone.the account was in his name and i had felt bad even asking him to mail in the death certificate.however the customer had faxed it in.so i kept to my word and credited the customer 3 $50.00 credits and one $25.00 credit to clean out the termination fee.in some twisted way they scold their employees on these type of actions.you should never work for teletech.

Aug/11/05Bob LincolnMAMy dad moved recently, and Verizon dropped off an unsolicited DSL modem at his doorstep. He called them to take it back, and they wanted him to pay to ship it. He told them forget it and that MA law allows you to keep unsolicited merchandise with no obligation. They ignored him and billed him for 1 1/2 months of service that he never requested or used. After being threatened with legal action from the Atty General, they had UPS pick up the modem at their expense. But they only reversed the false DSL service charge for the last month and not the previous 1 1/2 months.
